Interview with Jongo who earns $US100 a day on Hive Blockchain
Since the inception of crypto currency the ability to earn an income and supplement your wage has increased with some crypto earners exceeding their income from their primary job. One thing that has occurred recently is the growth on Hive Blockchain and in today's interview we're going to sit down with @jongolson who earns $US100 a day blogging right here on Hive Blockchain and find out his advice for success.
Tell us a bit about yourself
I have been building businesses online for over 2 decades now and stumbled upon the crypto stuff almost on day one. Of course, I failed miserably at 'hodling' my BTC and LTC from so many years ago, but decided it was time to build my online businesses on the blockchain. This was in 2017 and I haven't looked back.
That's pretty impressive andat your ability to pivot your business model online! A skill many didn't have throughout the pandemic. $500 Bitcoin! I remember those days, atleast you can say you owned some I was too scared to invest.
What inspired you to join Hive/Leo Finance?
PayPal! Back in 2017, they basically shut my account down after 17 years of doing business with them. No reason, no explanation, just your account has been shut down. Completely ruining me, I lost my house, my businesses were destroyed but I'm an entrepreneur at heart, so I HAD to rebuild. The difference was, I was never going to put my 'effort' or income into centralized systems anymore. This blockchain was the natural solution for me.
What was you're initial thoughts of Hive Blockchain and Leo Finance?
Once I 'got it', I was hooked. I saw there was a steep learning curve, so I took my time. But back then, all we had was the layer 1 token and the stable coin. Leo was like a dream but it was the promise of 'tokenizing the internet'. I thought it was brilliant how I could hang out in a community, and get rewarded for adding value to it.
How important are making networks/friends on the blockchain?
Oh wow. It's everything! The whole 'trick' to building a business online is the networks you build that will help you grow. This blockchain is perfect for that because it highlights the members of the community that put that relationship building front and centre! Very powerful as a content creator and or an entrepreneur!
What would you consider success?
I have seen a lot of success (and a ton of failures) over the years. And the one thing I have always stated is that success is...Freedom. It's not how much money or crypto you can accumulate, it's literally the time I can spend on what matters most. To me, the biggest success is when someone loves what they do and can allocate the time in their day to what matters most.
If you could start over again is there anything you would do differently and why?
The only thing I would have done differently, is not 'sell' my bitcoin at $500 lol Lesson learned! But honestly, I don't think I would change a thing. As horrible as the PayPal events were for my family and my business, it wouldn't have led me to the Hive blockchain, to Leo, to building my businesses here.
I'm a spiritual dude, so for me God always has a plan, no matter how strange it may seem.
How much of a difference has earning crypto through blogging made on your life?
Completely changed it! It's allowed me to focus on what I love the most, and that's content creation and community development! What better place is there? Where we are supported almost on day one, and if we put in the effort to support the community...It is very much reciprocated!
Where do you see Hive/Leo Finance in the future.
For me, Hive is the future of everything. So I'm in accumulation mode every day, regardless of price. As for Leo, that's my 'big little bet'. In 2021, I decided to never sell another LEO token and just stack it going forward.
From Cub Finance to Project Blank, Hive Stats and everything in between...I believe BIG TIME in Khal and the Leo team. But also, I believe in the passionate community that has thrived here over the past few years.
What is some advice you can share with the community.
Stay. The. Course!
Don't be a Jon and sell your crypto to make a quick buck. The old saying that time IN the market beats timing of the market holds so much truth for me. I get very excited when I think about where this stuff will be in 3 to 5 years from now.
Just stay the course! Show up every day, put in the effort and your future self will thank you for decades to come!

What if you have controversial political opinions? Idk if I can ever make that much believing what I do but hey you never know!
It's kind of tongue in cheek. I know certain people stopped voting and or following me when I started expressing "radical" views in meme or article. It's just kind of funny to see my what most would considered fringe views resonating more and more with the masses not under MSM main control. Sorry I don't mean to detract from Jon's interview. Good for him except the selling early thing.
Now he's gotta work harder to earn it back!
I think it's about finding your target audience and appealing to them. Refer to my how to write like a Lion post.
Of course but platform demographics play a part in that. The thing is being politically agnostic generally means you get more rewards. Just the nature of the beast.
I would like to see way more conservative minded freedom advocates in Hive. Then the rewards will follow suit.
If you build it, they will come.
I mean, regardless of Hive, I made the decision years and years ago to never really tie my political or religious opinions to my social media journey.
Sometimes it's tough and I can open my mouth, but generally, I keep my business and personal opinions about that stuff separate.
Makes sense if you see it as a business. It bothers me so much how the corporations these days have decided to get political or as many would say "go woke".
If I had a business, I would strive to make a superior product and not get my brand into political discourse. As for my personal social media, all bets are off. 😉

Be like Jongo. Earn 100 USD a day. Btw, do you convert that to CAD? :P :D
Yeah in USD he is earning $4.95.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
What's the number @jongolson :P
ha ha ha ah with the way Canada is headed...That might be about 2 bucks soon lol
It could be the other way round soon tbh. We may need to pay 1000CAD to get 100 USD. You are the inspiration for all - be it Canada or the US.
Jongo, my mate, you make me dream. 🤑😋

Inspiring! I had no idea (how could I, lol) that you also lost everything in the past. I can relate as I carry my own story of leaving my country with my partner and baby some years ago had nothing else left but what we carried. I knew nothing about the existence of web3 at the time though, I got introduced in 2017 like you (another account). I had to learn everything from scratch though haha, I had no clue that I was going to get sucked in and it would be a huge part of my life soon. You probably get that feeling haha @jongolson
It's always awesome to read whenever someone experienced something similar and came back on his/her own strength. For that alone, you have my respect!
Fantastic story and sounds like many stories of the 1950s my grandparents went through something similar.
Well done on finding a place on Web3!
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Lol, the difference is though that it wasn't in the 50s but just 7years ago.
We did something drastic though, left the country found our happiness elsewhere but that's because of the rest of the story behind it. But how horrible that was, it made us stronger and honestly most things that seemed like a horrible challenge years ago, are now like "meh, we've been through worse, this is nothing". Finding web3 was probably one of the best things that happened after though, that has really opened a world to me and connections made worldwide.
Because of the title, I was now wondering what I earn on Hive average a day. Will probably check that in some weeks for fun. Though it's not close to 100 :) That will take some time :)
At the time, I thought my life was over...But if I didn't crash and burn I would have never found this community and blockchain.
So lucky to actually have had that happen...Didn't feel that way going through it tho lol
Yes, I know the feeling very well. I suddenly saw the light and found a volunteering website to go volunteering abroad for a room and food, signed up and found a place to go to (incl 3 month old baby lol), 2,5 months and 3 hosts later we settled down there for a little over a year.
I think if I didn't find that at the time, I wouldn't have been able to pull us through things were falling apart like a domino effect. I could not give anymore and I was burned to the ground emotionally.
But I too see that this has made me super inventive, creative to find solutions, and much stronger at mind in the end!
JonGo needs to make me $100 per day in Listnerds.
He needs to get busy building that and stop talking to everyone like he is a rock star.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
What is Listnerds. I must get involved.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Listnerds
It is an email project where they built a self contained system. They tied it to $CTP and created the $LISTNERD tokens.
Basically you get incentivized to read and send emails. It is only about a month old so still new but growing a great deal. People are sending their posts out using that system.
Has a ton of potential to change the face of email marketing.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
I will check Listnerds it appears to be interesting
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
It is a good one. I like the results so far. We will see how big this becomes.
However, it might be like Splinterlands, something that people in a few years will wished they got involved with at the beginning.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Ah that's why CTP is peaking. I been staking it for quite some time.
Staking CTP on the site will enable you to get more emails which allows you to send more out which equates to the potential to have more LISTNERDS in your wallet.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Wait what. I need to go check this out. I've missed this.
You forgot to throw an affiliate link with your username as the referral. Sounds like the perfect chance to have people in your downline (free person in your email list mailed out).

Added to blog! Great input
Wow .. This is so impressive.
I ll like to know his streets tho, does he make it all from leofinance?
It fluctuates, but it's from everything I do on the Hive blockchain including Leo.
Great story well done
@jongolson
Glad you are doing well
This is awesome badges, projects and spotlight
:)
Must be good to be !ALIVE

@melbourneswest! You Are Alive so I just staked 0.1 $ALIVE to your account on behalf of @benthomaswwd. (2/10)
The tip has been paid for by the We Are Alive Tribe through the earnings on @alive.chat, feel free to swing by our daily chat any time you want.

Jongol is quite amazing and I think $100 would be quite amazing. It's pretty much $3k a month and it should be enough to at least get by in the US without too many issues. Hive/LEO has so many opportunities and it just needs you to find your own place in it.

That's a lot of money, does JonGo sell cocaine on this "hive" thing?
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
😂😂
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
very sus 😅😆
$100 income is impressive. That's my goal from now on :)
On this occasion, I calculated my daily Hive earnings and found it to be $20. If prices don't fluctuate downwards, that's fine.

Will share this with my list. Thanks.

This was a cool read! Interesting to hear peoples stories in this stuff for sure.
