Runesser Sevaya | Splinterlands Art Contest W370

Hello, dear creative community!
Today i'm back with another Splinterlands fan art . While I was finishing the sketch for another drawing, i decided to look through the cards to see what other character i could draw. This time, this character caught my attention because of its colors and clairvoyant characteristics. For a few days now, i've been wanting to draw something with the color orange. Lately, i've been finding inspiration in a particular color. Before, it was red, and now it seems to be orange. This sequence is familiar to me; it reminds me of the chakras. So this character is perfect for this occasion.

Runesser Sevaya

Sevaya Sen and her Riftwatcher compatriots have followed in the wake of Silus of the Rift and his legions of Chaos across numerous realms. They collected the scraps and the survivors, bolstering their combat power and preparing for the day when they would stand against their mortal enemies. Now, that day is fast approaching. The Chaos Empire controls the Splinterlands, and Sevaya is afraid. For she is a runeseer and triusul human, skilled in both runemancy and clairvoyance. She has seen the possible futures. Most lead to ruin. Only a handful do not. And in these handful, there is always a battle mage, and there are always choices. She will do what she can to guide the battle mage toward the right ones.Splinterlands.com

Sketching and Inking

I began to draw the first lines with my graphite pencil... Everything flowed smoothly, fortunately my hand is now working normally. Sometimes after sketching, i like to apply the background color directly because i no longer find it comfortable to draw on white, the lighting in my room makes it more difficult. But i preferred to first outline all the base lines with black ink and then start the coloring part.

Coloring Time | Background

This time, instead of starting with the main figure, i wanted to add color to the background. As i mentioned earlier, i like to apply a base color to the entire area, but i wasn't sure if i wanted my character to have that orange color because i was afraid it would cause problems with the other colors later on, so i only reserved that base tone for the background and other areas such as her eyes and hair. I also used a yellow and terracotta tone for her clothes and helmet.

Coloring Time | color base

I started preparing the entire drawing with the base colors. I wanted to do everything neatly so i wouldn't have to add so many details with other techniques. I did this entire step with alcohol markers and added the black details with calibrated drawing pens.

I used a deep, bright blue, a warm dark gray, and i really liked that terracotta color, so i used it as the base color for the skin as well. For the hair, i had already used orange as the base, and i used a mahogany brown marker to add texture to the hair. At this point, i liked how the character was turning out, so i continued adding details to the background with a cream color and pointillism.

Shadows | Midtones | Lights

Using the same shades i was already using, i wanted to create midtones and shadows. With the terracotta, i continued adding other layers to darken certain areas. This also worked for the blue areas, although in other areas i looked for a darker blue marker to give more depth to the clothing. With a light gray color, i added the illuminated parts, and with an intense yellow color, i wanted to add lines throughout the drawing, like small reflections of light on her clothes and other accessories.

Skin | Last Details

I left this part for last because i wasn't entirely sure whether to keep the skin purple like the original character or give it other shades with that terracotta base, even though it looks a little greenish in the photo. But from the beginning, i thought about adding a layer of lilac color and then complementing it with a soft magenta and dark violet tone to shade it a little. I added the final luminous details with acrylic markers. I used yellow to create the glow around the main figure.

The End

And that's how this mystical monster turned out. I enjoyed drawing this character; i loved her colors, energy, and that clairvoyant samurai wizard look. That's all for today. I hope you like it. See you later! ;)
