Investing in Packs?

As we continue to wait for the next set of packs to be released the current packs that are still in circulation is running at a discount. Question then is if its worth purchasing now for those who have yet to have all the cards in the sets like myself?

Chaos packs are no longer sold on the market but there are plenty on the open market at with current DEC & SPS price drop it has made the packs sell at a significant discount.

By calculations on Splintercards.com each pack is selling for over 75% from its original value! I am pondering if holding some Chaos packs long term and then flipping them in the future at higher prices.

We can see the trend where legacy packs such as Untamed is already worth almost 10 packs of Chaos for every one pack. Even older packs such as Orb and Beta are 20 times and 30 times that of Chaos respectively.

The question then is if holding onto Chaos packs be a good investment at current times? The whole idea of gaining profits is to buy low and sell high. With discount as much as 75% it may not be unreasonable to hold even just a handful of packs and then come back to this a year from now to see prices have appreciated.

The concerning part for me is that there are 2 times the amount of Chaos packs still in circulation than the overall Untamed series. Even more so Chaos packs compared to Beta and Orbs.

Bottom line supply is exceeding demand at a high rate and whether this will shift will depend on time for the most part. Sooner or later the packs will dwindle but until then it appears there is a fire sale for some Chaos packs.

Honestly it's going to be a while before these packs increase in value. 15 million packs over untames at 1.5 million is a HUGE diffrence in the amount that was pushed out and play base has shrunk and not expanded since then. Depending on how many packs are in the next sale idk if I'll even invest and insteaed just buy off the 2nd market.

I don't see the value of Chaos Legion packs increasing without a significant jump in the player base... which I also don't see happening at this stage or in the foreseeable future

The way it's going the way we're seeing the market go down, it's a very good time for us to buy things like that because they've gone down a lot and will go up within the coming time.

The supply of chaos legion packs was ridiculously high and they even had to resort to burning a bunch of packs to sell out of it. I just think that there is way too much supply but I don't mind holding on to them for now. It's unfortunate to see. Has the price of untamed packs dropped because of this?

All packs have dropped in price including untamed. Feels like a weak demand but I am hopeful Splinterlands will turn the corner and grow in the near future. !WINE
