Backgrounds and Skins

I believe specialty items in Splinterlands have been out a few weeks and looking at the different items its interesting to see some accept DEC/credits while others Glints. These are additional silos to pull in currency that in turn will likely cap supply. However I do not know additional benefits than aesthetics. There do not seem to be additional boosts in having these items applied.

Outfits and hats are yet to be added in the game but are upcoming. I would believe there maybe future uses for these items beyond aesthetics but time will tell.

Card skins have been available in the open market but with limited supply the prices are wide and high. With the older skins limited in supply it will be difficult to see prices fall. In addition not may players hold legacy cards so the skins may not be in demand.

In newer cards the card skins also have limited supply. There is a not really a strong market for these items but at least players have the option to offer them for sale.

I personally believe this is all a good thing as more of the digital assets on the platform can freely be traded and sold. The key here is players have the ability to be flexible with their assets. This is what is so good about decentralized games. The assets can freely be shared and exchanged according to the current owners.
