I’ve been running into a lot of hard battles lately but Daarg Deadblast keeps saving my butt. So I decided to give him the spotlight for this week. Daarg Deadblast is a fun unit to fight with and there's a lot of combos you can use him with to keep your team alive and kicking.

Recently, I kept trying him again in battles and he actually ended up securing some wins thanks to his magic attacks and that Weapons Training bonus. He works best when you’ve got units on your team has no attack for that Weapons Training and combine him with other support units like those with Taunt. Let’s take a deeper look at what makes Daarg Deadblast click and when he might be worth the investment.

At $110 for a max level Daarg Deadblast, the price feels a bit steep but justifiable if you’re building around Weapons Training synergy. The value comes more from how good it is with Weapons Training than raw stats so the cost really depends on how often you rely on units that need to be combo'ed with Weapons Training. This unit is by no means cheap but he is really useful if used with other units properly.

Renting him for 49.95 DEC per day at level 2 is leaning toward the expensive side. I wasn't able to find a max level 4 but as long as you have Weapons Training and Triage, I believe he's worth to pick up. At level 2, you get Weapons Training, Swiftness and Triage. If you're running a build that specifically needs a Triage or just needs someone to fill your team due to your high mana units, Daarg Deadblast is a good pick.

Use it in...

Only units with magic attacks may be used. While Weapons Training cannot be used, his Triage can still be valuable when combo'ed with Taunt range or magic units.

Units with Melee attack may not be used in battles. Since Weapons Training grant magic attack, Daarg Deadblast works really well in this rule set.

All units with magic and ranged attacks have Snipe (magic and ranged attacks target the first non-melee enemy unit behind the first position). You usually put a non-attack unit in front and back of Daarg Deadblast. This means he would be safe in a Target Practice rule set.

Avoid using it in...

All units with magic and ranged attacks have Scattershot (magic and ranged attacks target a random enemy unit). Scattershot is both good and bad for Daarg Deadblast. It can be good since the trained units can also use Scattershot but this can also be deadly as a few hits to Daarg Deadblast can be fatal.

Units lose all abilities. This rule strips him of all his special abilities which kills a lot of his value.

All healing abilities are removed from Units and Summoners. Removes his Triage utility which is one of his most useful abilities.

Battle Strat: Since this is a low mana battle, the cheapest play would be using Weapons Training since Daigendark Surveyor costs only 2 mana. With a Halfling Refugee (1 mana), Daarg Deadblast with Weapons Training (7 mana) and a Weapons Training target Daigendark Surveyor (2 Mana). All of that with Zeddica at 3 mana, I have all the advantages I need for this battle.

Battle Summary: Since Halfling Refugee can outheal Songale's attacks and Daarg Deadblast can heal most of Gonach Excavator's Sneak attack to Daigendark Surveyor, I have the advantage on both sides.
