Unlocking the Real Power of Ujurak Brave

Every Splinterlands player has that one card they totally sleep on at first. You look at its stats and think, “Meh, not worth it,” then later it ends up carrying you through a battle you had no chance of winning. That’s honestly one of the best parts of the game, finding those hidden gems that carry your team unexpectedly especially in the right conditions.

For me, one of those hidden gems is Ujurak Brave. It doesn’t scream power or damage when you first use it especially since I don't rent a max level of it and honestly, it looks kinda weak compared to tanks I commonly use that have Shield or Void. The more I played, the more I realized this card is way better than people give it credit for. Let’s break it down.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Choose an underrated card

So, yeah, the card is Ujurak Brave. Most players probably glance at it and move on. Why? Because it doesn’t have high damage, and it’s missing those juicy defensive abilities like Shield or Void that usually define good frontline units. Even just on paper, it feels underwhelming especially since it has melee attack and is forced to act as a main tank.

Here’s the thing thought, it’s not about the numbers on its stats, it’s about the abilities it brings to the table and the synergy it can provide to the team. Ujurak Brave has one ability that can completely ruin enemy game plans if you use it at the right time. Let me explain why.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Explain why it’s stronger than people think

The ability I am talking about is Silence. Simple but effective. Magic attack is the strongest type of attack since it bypass armor and never miss. So, most players spam units with magic attack. Silence lowers the magic attack of every enemy by 1 and that adds up fast. If your opponent brings all six magic attackers, that’s basically like deleting six damage per round. If they’re using Marlai Singariel for the +1 magic buff? Silence cancels it out like it never even existed.

That’s not all. Ujurak Brave also comes with Immunity. It is unaffected by any negative buff like Cripple or Affliction so you are sure to have a tank that can be healed all the time. So, not only is it nerfing your enemy’s magic attacks but it’s also sticking around longer than most of your other cards on the right lineup.

It looks weak because it doesn’t deal big hits on lower levels but the hidden strength is in how it changes the flow of the battle with its abilities. Sometimes, winning isn’t about hitting harder but it’s about making sure your opponent hits softer.

Show a battle where it made a difference

Here’s a great example:

In this fight, my opponent stacked their whole team with magic damage. Five magic units plus Marlai Singariel’s +1 buff. Normally, that kind of lineup would just melt me in a few rounds. Since the attack go under the armor and hit directly the health, any tank you put in front without Void will die in one round.

But because I had Ujurak Brave in my lineup, even though he doesn't have Void, he has silence. Because of this, the entire enemystrategy fell apart. Silence kicked in right away and knocked all their damage down by 1. That means the Marlai buff was completely negated and their big scary numbers just weren’t enough anymore.

Because of Helheim Demon and its Taunt, Ujurak Brave gets a small breathing room so the enemy magic attacks target my Helheim Demon instead of my Ujurak Brave. This allowed my Ujurak Brave to live longer. Any damage Helheim Demon gets though get outhealed by Arachne Weaver because the enemy have lower damage thanks to Ujurak Brave.

By the start of Round 2, the pressure was gone. My team was completely demolishing the enemy team once their main tank fell and their damage wasn’t keeping up.

By the end of round 2, it was basically over. They just couldn’t punch through, while I slowly chipped away until victory. The combo of Ujurak Brave's Silence, Helheim Demon's Taunt and Arachne Weaver's Corrupted Healing is too much for them. And the funny part? Ujurak Brave didn’t even need to swing for big damage, just tank a few damage from the enemy tanks. It won the fight just by sitting there and lowering the enemy damage.

Share tips on how to use it well

Here’s how you can get the most out of Ujurak Brave:

Archon: At higher levels, Ujurak Brave actually gets a 3 melee attack, which makes it way scarier. On Modern Ranked, if you run it with Cryptic. You get even more value because Cryptic’s Retaliate punishes enemies that hit you and its Enfeeble lowers enemy melee attacks. Since Enfeeble activates per successful attack, each Retaliate also activates it. Your Ujurak Brave is both hitting harder and making enemy's magic and melee damage weaker. But overall, the best archons are Thaddius Brood (because that adds another -1 magic for a total of -2 with Ujurak’s Silence) or Mimosa Nightshade, who gives your team Void, doubling down on the anti-magic strategy.

Units: Put it alongside units with Void. This combo is disgusting because Silence lowers magic before Void halves it. So if an enemy’s magic gets dropped to 1, Void cuts it down to 0. Entire magic attacks just vanish into thin air. That’s how you completely shut down a magic spam team.

Rule Set: Ujurak Brave is a monster in Noxious Fumes. Thanks to Immunity, it ignores poison damage while every other unit on the board is slowly dying. You get to sit back and watch the enemy crumble while your Brave keeps doing its Silence work without losing HP each round.

Extra Notes: Don’t forget that Silence stacks. If you run two Silence units, that’s -2 magic across the enemy team. Stack it with Thaddius Brood, and you’re dropping them by -3. At that point, most magic units are barely scratching you—or literally doing no damage at all.
