Did you know that there's a way for your armor to use against magic attack? Are you familiar with Void Armor? Had you found success using Thanalorian Scion in your builds?

Armor is something that is normally ignored in Splinterlands but difference of armor can make you win or lose that battle. Armor acts like a second health. If you have 1 armor and your enemy has 5 attack, that armor can take all of that damage making your health untouched. With Void Armor, you can now use Armor against magic attacking units. Stack up your armor with Thanalorian Scion and experience a tank that can handle all forms of attack.

Let's talk about… Thanalorian Scion

Lore:

Elandrial is the only child of a prominent noble family of the House of Morth'lana. She was educated in the arcane arts from a young age and has since grown into a prodigious sorceress.
Elandrial is acutely aware of the threat posed by Mount Redwyrm's dragons and the Chaos Empire's looming shadow over the Kingdom of Thanaloria. While the Lord of Thanalor has assumed a policy of isolation, Elandrial advocates for the high elves to bolster their oppressed neighbors and forge alliances with any who would stand against the empire.

Thanalorian Scion costs $37.50 for a max level which is expensive for my taste. Max level is not really required if you're only going to use her as a tank. A level 3 with 2 magic attack for $9.84 would sufficiently work as well if you don't have the funds.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Unfortunately, there's no good options for Thanalorian Scion. The max level ones costs 51.99 DEC per day. Other than that, there's one that lists for 9.60 as a level 4 but that's only a single option except the level 6. The rest are level 1 for 2.00.

Use it in...

All Units have 2 Armor in addition to their normal Armor stat. Thanalorian Scion relies on armor so having high armor helps him survive longer.

Units with the lowest Speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks. This rule set works best with Thanalorian Scion's 1 speed. This allows him to dodge a lot of attacks and attack first before his enemies.

All units have Rebirth (self-resurrects once per battle with 1 health and 100% of armor; all magic debuffs are removed, and all magic buffs are reapplied; skips turn). Units revived with Rebirth or Resurrect is revived with 1 health and max armor. This technically revives Thanalorian Scion at full power since he originally has 1 health.

Avoid using it in...

All units have Corrosive Ward (-2 to attacker’s armor and maximum armor when hit by a melee attack). Thanalorian Scion already has Corossive Ward. This rule set does not benefit Thanalorian Scion.

Units do not have any armor and do not get armor from Abilities or Summoner Buffs. Armor is Thanalorian Scion's whole defense. Without armor, Thanalorian Scion just dies.

All Units start the battle Poisoned. Poison doesn't get blocked by armor or Void Armor. With Noxious Fumes, Thanalorian Scion dies on the next turn unless the poison is cleansed.

Battle Strat: In this battle, since there's Fog of War rule set, I know that majority of attacks will be coming from the front. This is a good chance to use Thanalorian Scion's high armor with Void Armor to create an extra layer of protection for my team.

Battle Summary: As expected, this was a hard fought battle. If I did this normally where Baakjira is the only tank, I might've lost. Even though most of the enemy's attacks are magic and Baakjira has Void to halve all of them, it's still not enough to protect the team. You can see Djinn Oshannus taking magic attack from my team and eventually bit the dust.
