Do you know why I like using Iziar from Silver to Diamond? Can you use her abilities to the fullest and make it work for your team? How can Taunt change the flow of the battle in high ranks?

With Taunt, Void and Martyr, Iziar serves as a powerful tank that not only absorbs attacks but can also be useful even in death. Properly using Iziar and knowing when to use and when not to use her is a very key component of my strategy. Once you can properly control Taunt units, I am sure you can also arrive to higher ranks just like what I did these past few weeks.

Let's talk about… Iziar

Lore:

Iziar is the last of the Blesog, a faction of storm giants that hail from the peaks of the Agniavas. It has been a decade since her beloved fell, stricken by time, and now his bones lie beneath the cold, crystalline ground of one of the range's tallest peaks. But before he passed on, he left Iziar with a gift, the seed of new life. She holds this keepsake deep inside her, teaching and preparing her unborn children for the day when she passes on and they must find their own way in the world.
Iziar remains isolated within the mountains, and few have laid eyes upon her. She spends most days toying with the elements, mixing combinations of the ruinous powers of nature and delighting in their raw elemental displays. It is said that nobody can throw lightning quite like a storm giant, and the swirling tornadoes they conjure with a simple twirl of their finger can level a city.

Iziar's max level is very expensive at $124.99. It consists of 11 total copies of this card all combined into one which averages to $11.27 per card which is decent. The higher the level of your Iziar, the better since she has a lot of uses for every battle and can be the cornerstone of your strategies.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

You have many choices for renting Iziar. The level 4 is still the best with her 3 magic attack. If you can't afford her, you can step down a level. The level 3 still has Martyr but with 1 less magic attack. The Martyr is a good bonus but is not important. The last option is the level 2 which doesn't have Martyr ability but still have Taunt and Void, the two important abilities. The difference between level 1 and level 2 are the extra 2 health for level 2 which is really important as this increases the heal amount of Triage and Heals by 1.

Use it in...

All units have Opportunity (targets the enemy unit with the least health). This gives you the benefit of the rule set while also eliminating the enemy's benefit in this rule set. It’s a solid way to turn the tables by targeting weak enemies fast while your enemy focuses on Iziar because of her Taunt.

The initial Health of all Units is equal to that of the Units on either team with the highest base Health. Enemies will benefit most from having high health since you spend higher mana for Iziar. You need to be careful because high mana units which usually has high health won’t give you as much value in this rule set than low health units with high attack.

Only units with magic attacks may be used. Iziar is really good against magic attack units because of Void. That magic reduction makes her a strong pick to handle magic attack more effectively.

Avoid using it in...

All units have Fury (deals double damage if the target has Taunt). While this is good so you can get the Martyr from Iziar, it's still a bad thing because you lose a really good tank with Taunt and Void abilities. Losing Iziar can affect your overall team’s defense especially if your enemy has existing Sneak, Snipe or Opportunity unit after Iziar's death.

Units with the lowest Speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks. Martyr also increases Speed which is a disadvantage to your other units in this rule set. Faster units will struggle to act first and may miss more if they have melee or range attacks.

All melee units have Sneak (targets the enemy unit in the last position). This rule set makes your enemy use more melee units which makes Void ineffective against melee and range attacks. While Iziar can help redirect the attack to her, her Void also won't help which means she might die in a turn if your enemies have high attack units.

Battle Strat: Use Iziar and Rage as the main tanks of this team. Due to Wands Out rule set, their Void abilities are very useful halving all the enemy damage. Djinn Renova and Lily Shieldpaw assists Iziar while Oshuur Constantia assists Rage completing my defense. Chaos Dragon sprays magic attack with the help of Scattershot and Blast to thin out the enemy from the back. Lastly, Runemancer Atuat is there to cushion the line up in case a miracle happened and Rage falls.

Battle Summary: A perfect game for a perfect team line up. No casualties on my side and even though Rage went down to a critical level, he's still safe since Oshuur Constantia has his Resurrect all ready as a backup.
