My 100% Win-Rate Earthquake Team
This post was made as entry for Splinterlands Social Media Challenge

I save some of my past battles, those which I thought are interesting and this is one of those. This happened during my grind to Diamond and I was Gold at this time.
Even today, this is the team I usually go to when I play with Earthquake rule set and this never fails me and I want to share this before this would be unplayable in Modern Ranked Format.

The Team
This is an Earth element team focused in Earthquake Rule Set. I think this is the best team currently for this set to play for Earthquake Rule Set.
Summoner: Obsidian: Great 4 mana summoner that can boost the magic attack of half of your units, namely, Regal Peryton, Goblin Psychic and Mycelic Slipspawn.

1 Pelacor Mercenary: The first core uniy, the main tank and backbone of this anti-Earthquake team. The Heal and Flying ability are the reasons why he's my main tank. Retaliate is also good because of the high attack.

2 Regal Peryton: Second core unit and reserved tank. You can use Regal Peryton as the main tank if Pelacor Mercenary is not available. He's a fast magic attack flying unit that can hit really hard and avoid melee and range attacks due to that high speed.

3 Gargoya Devil: Third core unit of the team. The Flying ability and Close Range is strong because you can substitute him as well as a tank if needed. His range attack also gives you a mix attack so your enemies cannot counter your team effectively by using a few abilities.

4 Halaran Huntress: Exchangeable unit with Flying ability. Halaran Huntress can be used in this team because of the Flying ability but he's not a priority. If you have extra mana, then it's good to add him but if not, I suggest you pick the core units first. The Charge ability allows him to attack from behind but the lack of health and armor makes him a bad tank even in cases of emergencies.

5 Goblin Psychic: Exchangeable unit with Tank Heal and Silence. Goblin Psychic is good against mirror matches where your enemies wanted to focus on magic attack. The Silence can do a lot in those situations. In this anti-Earthquake strategy, Goblin Psychic is not a priority unit because Tank Heal cannot heal himself from the Earthquake damage. Add him as a 5th member if you have the mana and Halaran Huntress as the last unit if you still have mana.

6 Mycelic Slipspawn: The last core unit of the team. Even though Mycelic Slipspawn cannot fly and will take Earthquake damage per round, the main purpose of him is to absorb range and magic attacks until your unit breaks through from the front. With Mycelic Slipspawn taunting other attacks, your Pelacor Mercenary would only take attacks from the other team's main tank and unit on second position with Reach ability if they have it. With only those two sources of damage, Pelacor Mercenary can outheal them. This is why Mycelic Slipspawn is important in the beginning, to not make your Pelacor Mercenary overwhelmed with damage from the enemy units.

I was initially planning to just talk about these four battles until I decided to make this a full guide instead. The above battles have different battles but the Earthquake rule set is the commonality. I just used the same team depending on the other rule sets and the available mana and it never failed me.
Actually, I had more battles with Earthquake rule sets but I thought these four are enough to show the true prowess of the team and yes, the other Earthquake battles are also wins and I never lost yet with this full team.
Immortalis to Obsidian

One good change you can do with this team is using Immortalis instead of Obsidian. While Obsidian can improve Regal Peryton and Mycelic Slipspawn's attack, Immortalis can be used by Pelacor Mercenary and Gargoya Devil as well.
The disadvantage would be obvious in the form of less magic attack for the two main units. Even so, I would prefer Immortalis because of his abilities can be used by all units.
