Big Tank, Big Health

Ever had one of those matches where you just want a unit that can sit in front and take endless punishment? That’s what Ulundin Overseer is made for. It’s not here to deal damage or nuke enemies, it’s here to stand tall while the rest of your team does the dirty work.
With 10 armor and 17 health, this unit is the definition of “tank.” It’s slow, heavy, and made for matches where endurance is needed the most. Let’s talk about why Ulundin Overseer can be your go-to wall when the battle calls for unbreakable defense.

Let's talk about… Ulundin Overseer

The ulund are a fiercely territorial race, and their overseers are the weighty enforcers of their city-state's borders. Massive girth undulating, earth trembling beneath each lumbering stride—the sight of one leading a charge is unlike no other.
In combat, their physical efforts largely consist of simply standing firm. It serves their ulund compatriots well, however, as the overseer's thick hide creates a nearly impenetrable barrier.

Stats:

| Mana: 11 | Rarity: Common |
| Damage: no attack | Armor: 10 |
| Speed: 1 | Health: 17 |

|| At the beginning of battle, if this unit is in the first position, the unit in the second position gains reach.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
- Ulundin Overseer is a massive wall of armor and health that grants your team pure defense. With 10 armor and 17 health at max level, it’s one of those tanky units you drop when you just want something that refuses to die. It has no attack, but with Flank, it helps your second-position melee unit attack from the side which adds a bit of offensive value to its bulk. It’s easy to use and very effective if you want a solid tank to hold your line.

Buy and Rent:
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
At $0.213 for level 1 and $28 for max level, Ulundin Overseer is cheap considering its mana cost and stat bulk. This common card need 400 of copies to max, and this one would’ve easily hit $80+ if priced normally. So yeah, this is a bargain if you are in need of a strong frontline but on a budget.
The rent price of 6.848 DEC for level 3 is actually cheap for what Ulundin Overseer brings to the table. With his massive armor and health, he can fit well in many lineups without costing much to try out. There is a catch though. There’s no higher-leveled version giving you more health and armor available for rental so you’re stuck with this level 3 one if you plan to use him.

Rule Sets:
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
| Use it in... |
![]() Units with Melee attack may not be used in battles. Since this rule set allows only magic and ranged attackers, Ulundin Overseer can work well when paired with Weapons Training units. It can give those non-attacking tanks range or magic attacks while keeping its huge health and armor intact. It's perfect for holding the line while while also getting the ability to strike back. |
![]() Units with the lowest Speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks. With only 1 speed, Ulundin Overseer becomes an unexpected star here. The slower units move first, making him surprisingly reliable in both absorbing and evading attacks. His massive armor makes him even harder to bring down. |
![]() All units have Rebirth (self-resurrects once per battle with 1 health and 100% of armor; all magic debuffs are removed, and all magic buffs are reapplied; skips turn). This rule set revives all units with full armor which makes Ulundin Overseer an absolute wall. His 10 armor returning after a resurrection gives him double the endurance compared to most other tanks. It’s a rule set that gives advantage based on his high health. |
| Avoid using it in... |
![]() All units have Opportunity (targets the enemy unit with the least health). His very high health makes him a low-priority target in this rule set. Enemies will focus on weaker targets first, leaving him tanking nothing and contributing little. |
![]() All units have Painforge (+1 power when damaged by Poisoned or Burning, or hit by an ally). Since this rule set gives Painforge for that gives extra damage to this unit when allies dealt damage to it, Ulundin Overseer is bad in this rule set if he has no Weapons Training combo. This is because he gains no extra damage if he doesn't have damage from the start. |
![]() The initial Health of all Units is equal to that of the Units on either team with the highest base Health. Since this rule gives all units the same health as the highest on the field, enemies also benefit from his huge health. This is bad because you pay for the mana and the enemies get the most benefit from its health. |

Battle Strat: My original plan was to use Ulunding Overseer's high health and Arachne Weaver's Corrupted Healing to counter the effect of Poison from Noxious Fumes rule set. The one thing I didn't account for is Arachne Weaver's low health which means he would mostly die first before he does anything meaningful. This is the core of my strategy and if Arachne Weaver have higher health, it would've been a lot better.
Battle Summary: Even though the strategy did not work perfectly as intended, there is still good value in the combo. The high health of Ulundin Overseer and Corrupted Healing allowed Ulundin Overseer to tank the enemy attacks while getting poisoned. Towards the end, I lucked out when the poison eliminated the enemy's entire lineup except for Lenore Nevermore which allowed me to grab the victory from behind. This battle is a close fight. I won with just 2 health on my Ulundin Overseer.
