Rising Star - I choose one song per day, Daily Rising Star statistics and giveaway of 150,000 starbits - Latino Lingo (Spanish Version): Cypress Hill

In this space I will be giving away STARBITS, sharing my experience with a song, telling how I discovered it, and providing interesting information about it. Then I will include several tables with statistics of the Rising Star game.

After I finished going through the hundred songs provided by Spotify that I listened to the most in the last year, I have thought of adding songs of my choice from my "Like" list that has more than 1000 songs. The last song I talked about in my last post was: Butterfly Effect: Koven

My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Latin Lingo of the american rap group Cypress Hill.

Since I was a teenager, I was always quite fond of American hip-hop. By the time I was thirteen, I had discovered artists like Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa and Ice Cube. It was all thanks to the influence of playing San Andreas Multiplayer, where I had several friends who used to consume that style of music and that's what ended up introducing me to the world of rap.

Much later in time, I already had a playlist with a lot of American hip-hop songs, most of them were more current than Old School. I don't remember specifically how I ended up meeting Cypress Hill, it's very likely that I heard one of their hits in one of the Hip-Hop playlists on Spotify. I really liked the group's style, becoming my favorite Hip-Hop group.

The band is so well known that they even had the luxury of appearing in an episode of The Simpsons. Recently, an artist from my country called Trueno managed to collaborate with the group, which was an important milestone for the Argentine music industry.

Cypress Hill is one of the most influential bands in the history of hip-hop. Formed in California, it is made up of artists with Latin roots: B-Real, Sen Dog and DJ Muggs.

Although their Latin heritage was always present, much of their discography was originally in English. However, in 1999 they decided to pay tribute to their origins by releasing a collection of songs completely reversioned in Spanish, under the title Los Grandes Éxitos en Español.

One of the group's most emblematic songs, “Latino Lingo”, which already included verses in English and Spanish, was reinterpreted entirely in Spanish for this special edition.
