Rising Star - I choose one song per day, Daily Rising Star statistics and giveaway of 150,000 starbits - Fanky: Charly Garcia

In this space I will be giving away STARBITS, sharing my experience with a song, telling how I discovered it, and providing interesting information about it. Then I will include several tables with statistics of the Rising Star game.

After I finished going through the hundred songs provided by Spotify that I listened to the most in the last year, I have thought of adding songs of my choice from my "Like" list that has more than 1000 songs. The last song I talked about in my last post was: De música ligera: Soda Stereo.

My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Fanky of the argentine artist Charly Garcia.

The nicest thing about being a fan of an artist is when you discover a song that you had never heard before. That's what happened to me with Charly Garcia's songs like “Funky” and “Cinema verite”.

From home, I have always been influenced by Argentine rock, the best period of it was in my mother's youth, so I always used to listen to some classic songs at home. Charly Garcia was one of the artists she liked the most.

It was only in my twenties that I discovered the entire musical work of Charly Garcia, thanks to his song Los Dinosaurios, in which he strongly criticizes the government during the Argentine dictatorship. The truth is that since then I listen to his songs almost every day, becoming my favorite artist of the genre, followed by Gustavo Cerati.

Carlos Alberto Garcia was born in 1951 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In his early years, he showed that he had an exceptional talent for playing the piano, so he studied at a music conservatory.

With the arrival of Rock, Charly was fascinated by this new genre, so he abandoned the more classical music to focus on this new boom, rock'n roll.

During the course of his career, he led three very famous bands in Argentina: Sui Generis, La Maquina de Hacer Pájaros and Seru Giran. Sui Generis and Seru Giran were the most famous, achieving even continental success. After the dissolution of Seru Giran, he started his solo career releasing albums such as: Clics Modernos, Piano Bar, De la cama al living room, which were a resounding success.

The song Fanky is part of the album “Como conseguir chicas” by Charly Garcia released in 1989.
