Good evening everyone!

In this space I will be giving away STARBITS, sharing my experience with a song, telling how I discovered it, and providing interesting information about it. Then I will include several tables with statistics of the Rising Star game.

After I finished going through the hundred songs provided by Spotify that I listened to the most in the last year, I have thought of adding songs of my choice from my "Like" list that has more than 1000 songs. The last song I talked about in my last post was: Rapto: Gustavo Cerati

El Mareo: Bajofondo, Gustavo Cerati

My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Mareo of the the rioplatense band Bajofondo with the collaboration of Gustavo Cerati.

It's always great to find new songs from the artists we love the most. The other day I was checking Gustavo Cerati's profile on Spotify and I realized that I had never listened to all his complete albums and collaborations. So I started to listen to songs that I didn't have in “I like” and I found great songs like Rapto, Bomba de Tiempo and Amor Amarillo.

My first contact with Gustavo Cerati's music was in my childhood. My mother was a big fan of Argentine rock and used to fill the house with his songs, playing the greatest hits of the genre. That's when I discovered Soda Stereo songs like “De musica ligera” and “Profugos”.

To be honest, I didn't know the band Bajofondo before listening to this collaboration. But I quite liked their style that tries to mix something as argentinian as tango with electronica.

Bajofondo is an “electronic tango” and rock band formed by rioplatense (Argentine and Uruguayan) musicians. The group is led by Gustavo Santaolalla and formed by Juan Campodonico, Luciano Supervielle, Veronica Loza and Martin Ferres.

The band was born in 2001, when two of the members decided to create a band that would mix two very different genres: tango and electronica. The idea of including tango is that they wanted to give a more “Latin” style to their music.

The group's second album, “Mar Dulce”, included the collaboration of the successful Argentinean artist Gustavo Cerati. This collaboration gave birth to Mareo, one of the group's most famous songs. With 42,000,000 plays on the Spotify platform and 11,000,000 on YouTube.
