Rising Star - I choose one song per day, Daily Rising Star statistics and giveaway of 150,000 starbits - Costumbres: Damas Gratis

In this space I will be giving away STARBITS, sharing my experience with a song, telling how I discovered it, and providing interesting information about it. Then I will include several tables with statistics of the Rising Star game.

After I finished going through the hundred songs provided by Spotify that I listened to the most in the last year, I have thought of adding songs of my choice from my "Like" list that has more than 1000 songs. The last song I talked about in my last post was: Ticket To Ride: Kawala

My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Costumbres of the argentinian cumbia group: Damas Gratis.

My musical tastes tend to lean towards older music, no matter the genre: rock, cumbia, pop, whatever. However, during my last year of high school I started going to discos quite often, mainly because of the graduation parties that were organized. It was on one of those nights that I met this group and one of their best known songs: No te creas tan importante.

I liked the band so much that I ended up adding a few songs to my Spotify “Like” list. I ended up finding out that they also had cumbia classics like Se te ve la tanga and El humo de fasito.

As for “Ke Personajes” I got to know him thanks to his collaboration with one of my favorite rock bands that is still going strong: Las Pastillas del Abuelo. They collaborated in a reversion of one of the band's hits called “Loco por volverla a ver”.

Costumbres was released in 2022 during a concert in which Damas Gratis collaborated with a cumbia singer "Emanuel" from Ke Personages.

Damas Gratis is an Argentine cumbia villera band. It was founded in the year 2000 by Pablo Lescano and its members varied according to the times of the band.

The first hits of the band were thanks to the songs “Se te ve la tanga” and “El humo de mi fasito” from the album “Para los pibes”. For a few years, they continued without releasing new hits, until 2018 when they released new hits such as Costumbres, No te creas tan importante and Me vas a extrañar.

The new format will be similar to the one we used some time ago, using the Hive Tools application.
