Rising Star - I choose one song per day, Daily Rising Star statistics and giveaway of 150,000 starbits - Canción de Alicia en el pais: Serú Giran.

In this space I will be giving away STARBITS, sharing my experience with a song, telling how I discovered it, and providing interesting information about it. Then I will include several tables with statistics of the Rising Star game.

After I finished going through the hundred songs provided by Spotify that I listened to the most in the last year, I have thought of adding songs of my choice from my "Like" list that has more than 1000 songs. The last song I talked about in my last post was: Desastre of Gustavo Cerati.

My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Canción de Alicia En El Pais of the argentine group Seru Giran.

It's always nice to discover new songs from one of your favorite artists. This is my case with Charly Garcia, he has so many great songs that I never finish discovering his entire musical repertoire.

One of the tools that I found useful to discover more songs from the artist was Spotify's recommendations feature, which suggests songs based on the playlist you are listening to. Thanks to this, I ended up finding songs like Alice's Song in the Country, Cinema Verité and Don't Cry for Me, Argentina.

Some time ago I had told that at the beginning I had listened to Seru Giran and I had not been able to catch any song, except only two. But as time went by, I gave them another chance until I got to know musical works such as Peperina, La grasa de las capitales and Nos veremos otra vez.

Seru Giran was formed in 1978, after Charly Garcia decided to form a new band with a new style for Argentine rock. The members chosen by Charly for the band were: guitarist and vocalist David Lebon, bassist and vocalist Pedro Aznar and drummer Oscar Moro.

The group's first album “Seru Giran” was a failure. The public that had been following the band's stars expected a different kind of music. However, they did not give up and released their second album “La grasa de las capitales” which was a complete success and allowed them to reconcile with their public.

Canción de Alicia en el pais was released in 1980, for the group's first album “Seru Giran”. In this song written by Charly Garcia, he criticizes metamorphically to the military dictatorship that ruled Argentina at that time, to avoid censorship.
