United by a Promise, Dane

Help me and I will help you. Many people, when helping their friends or family, first analyze whether they will receive help in return or something in return as payment. That is not essentially helping because in some way you are charging for your help. But Dane is not like that. He is a person who really likes to help those around him. He has always ruled his life with the saying do good and don't look at who. And that is something that has given him a lot of results in making a lot of friends and acquaintances. Currently he works as an amateur singer and guitarist. He started this life not long ago, because until recently what he did was sell flowers in a flower shop. But his life changed when he decided to dedicate himself completely to music and to be a singer.

Since he was not very famous yet, he was not very well known in the city or internationally. From time to time, one of his songs would come out on the radio and television. But they were shown at times when there were not many spectators. Because of all this, the money he has is not to be wasted. With what he earns in this job he can support himself but he cannot live a life that could be considered comfortable or with a lot of status. Although he cared little about getting rich or something like that. If he had become a singer and guitarist it was because he liked this job and not for the money. Let us remember that he already had his job as a flower seller. If he makes ends meet, the money will last him the whole month.

However, although the money is enough for basic expenses, it is not enough for emergency expenses and that is a problem. And that is exactly what happened to him when he least expected it. But the emergency did not happen to him but to Fabian, his brother. Fabian, in addition to being his brother, was the owner of the flower shop where they worked together before. They had gotten along very well throughout their lives, almost as if they were twin brothers. They both helped each other when they were in trouble and were not shy when it came to spending money to help the other. They had promised to always help each other.

One day Fabian called Dane to tell him that he had to tell him about a problem he had and that it was urgent. When Dane came to ask him what was going on, he told him that he had to have an operation on his brain to remove a tumor that had appeared on an x-ray. If he didn't get that tumor removed now that it was small, it would continue to grow and eventually it could become a big problem. But he didn't call him just to tell him that. It was to ask him for some practical help. The operation cost a lot of money, more than Fabian had saved up. And to top it off, the insurance didn't cover that kind of expensive operation. So all the expenses fell on the patient, so in this case Fabian didn't have the money.

When Dean heard all this, he became very sad, partly because of this strong news since they loved each other very much, but he became even sadder because he didn't know how to tell him that even if he gave him all the money he had saved, it wouldn't be enough for the operation. When Fabian told him this, he felt devastated because now he didn't know who else to turn to. The banks might lend him the money, but he would be in debt to them for almost a lifetime. So that would be the last option. Dean comforted him by telling him to count on him for anything and that he would see what he could do to help him.

Back at home Dean started thinking about what ways he could help his brother. Maybe he could sell the house, or sell his guitar. But even that wouldn't be enough. While he was thinking about this he looked at a picture of his first live concert and how many people came to that occasion. So looking at that picture he had a brilliant idea. He could do a charity concert and take all the profits to help his brother. The idea was very good because it would be an easier way for his brother to get money and for him to be able to have the operation. Maybe he wouldn't have to sell the house after all.

Although of course it was easier said than done, because even though it was a good idea he wasn't a very well-known singer yet so the attendance of people might not be enough to pay for his brother's operation. So he had to come up with a plan to be able to carry it all out. The first thing was to make people and his fans aware of what the money would be used for. They saw that he didn't want the profits to enrich himself, but to help his brother in need. The second thing was to find an effective way to advertise the concert.

He wasted no time and got to work. At home he created a web page announcing the date, place and time of the event. He also included a few lines explaining what the reason for the concert was and what the money would be used for. That way he hoped to attract more people's attention and maybe some would want to join in to help. And in fact that was exactly what happened. A local news station found out about the event and why they wanted to do it. So he immediately started advertising it too. Then word of mouth started to spread and more and more people found out about it. But that wasn't the best part, the news and the buzz about this concert reached the ears of some of the most prominent singers in the country.

So all of them contacted him to collaborate on the concert and help him get more publicity. Dean simply couldn't believe the amount of help he was receiving. When he told his brother he was very happy because maybe he could have the operation so he was very grateful to him. The day of the concert arrived, people of all ages and places had come. Everyone wanted to contribute their grain of sand by attending the concert. The press also came, as did the singers who had agreed to do the collaborations.

The place was packed, there were so many people that it was uncountable. And the amount of money Dean made that day was also uncountable. The truth is that the concert was a huge success thanks to the help he received. But besides making money, Dean gained worldwide recognition, which would make it much easier for him to continue his career in the future as a singer. And the best reward of all this is that his brother Fabian was able to have surgery and everything went well. And all this happened thanks to Dean's selfless desire to help others.
