The First Album, Carlito

Well, Carlitos had always been and is one of those guys who just went along with life without any pretensions, walking through the streets with his guitar on his back and a half smile on his face. For years, he had spent his nights playing in small bars and improvised meetings, without seeking fame or big stages, simply enjoying each and every song. His style was a bit clumsy but people liked it, in fact it had become part of his charm, although little by little he realized that this same charm did not lead him to the fame that, deep down, he also desired.

One afternoon, while fixing some cables at home, he thought it was time to do something different, to try to take a step further. The day before, a friend from the neighborhood told him that he would love to hear one of his albums and that stuck in his mind. He had been in music for years but had never done it, he just made music on the fly. He realized that he was still the same as always, but now suddenly he had the need to record an album that would show the world what he was capable of doing. It was something new for him because until now he had never done it. The following weeks he spent looking for a way to raise the money he needed for the production of the album.

He began by continuing to do what he had done until now to raise money. Playing in the same bars as always, the novelty was that he began to participate in larger events to raise more money and perhaps some sponsors. In a few months he already had the minimum money to begin production, it was not much so he would have to limit the spending to the minimum. But hey, something was something. All that was left was to dust off the songbook he had and start recording in a studio in the city.

The recordings took a few weeks because the producers at the studio told him that they had to polish the songs well before releasing them. Of course, all this time they spent working had to be paid for, so he began to worry about whether he would have enough money. When the deadline came, he went to see if they had finished the editing work, but they told him it was not ready yet. In fact, they told him that one of the songs had to be recorded again because it had some problems. He got upset with them because they had already taken so long and now they were coming out with this. But when they showed him the recording, it was indeed his fault because his voice was not the best at the time of recording. So he got over the annoyance and started recording again. Of course, all this time also had to be paid for.

The wait was worth it because they really did a good job. The bad thing was that the money had already dried up so there was no more to advertise the new album and without advertising no one would buy it. So he had to do some quick concerts in the city to earn a little more. With what he earned he was able to pay for the advertising. And he was able to release his first album. It was a fairly modest presentation, without big ceremonies, not many people knew about him yet. But that changed very quickly when an internet celebrity who had millions of followers mentioned on his networks that he had heard a very nice album last week. That seems to have created a domino or snowball effect because many people started buying the album, surely by word of mouth.

The album was so successful that the physical copies sold out and they could only sell the digital copies. Carlitos had to borrow money from his friends to be able to increase the production of physical copies and sell them in stores. When he had them, it was like a bomb, thousands of records were sold per day. He went from being almost unprepared for him to being very famous, the fact is that the album was very good. And added to that, he went from being in debt to having more than enough. Even though this success was due to his talent, on his social networks he always thanked the famous person and his friend who were the ones who helped him when he needed it most. This is his first album and it will certainly not be the last, now is when the story begins.
