Trying Soulkeep after Splinterlands
At first, I was hesitant between two games on Hive: Splinterlands and Soulkeep. Both are hugely popular and each has its own dedicated fan base. I kept seeing people talking about Splinterlands as the good card game in the blockchain world, and at the same time, Soulkeep was starting to be talked about as the strategy experience I'd been waiting for. To be fair, I decided to try both.
My first experience with Splinterlands was as I expected it is a card game that requires a deep understanding of monsters and abilities that are full of power while trying it was fun but after a while, I started to feel that it was a little dificult, especially if you do not have strong good cards to play with. Those with rare cards win easily, which made me feel like I was entering a race that required more experience to reach the actual level of competition.
With Soulkeep, however, things were completely different. The game offers a tower defense experience, which I personally love. The strategy here relies on choosing the right locations for towers and upgrading them to confront waves of enemies that increase in difficulty over time. I felt it was truly challenging and creative, not just a bunch of cards that move on their own after you select them. Each level has different strategies and every decision affects the outcome, which is what made me enjoy every moment of the game.
Of course, I'm not saying Splinterlands is bad on the contrary it's a solid game with a strong fan base. But I'm looking for fun above all else, and Soulkeep delivered that for me with flying colors. I might return to Splinterlands at a later date, but for now, if you want a fun experience with real planning and excitement, Soulkeep is the best choice for me.
