Happy and blessed Sunday, greetings to all members of the DiyHub community, I hope you are well and that you had an excellent weekend, today is a new day to thank God for so many good things, since yesterday I have been a little down since now I have a strong flu that has not let me work much, however, I was able to finish my new work on time for the Splinterlands art contest this week.
For the Splinterlands week 347 art contest I was inspired by the Angry Chicken card, in its description it refers to the fact that they have rebelled against their enemies since for a long time they have turned them and their eggs into food.
I made a decorative chicken figure inspired by this letter, using pipe cleaners as the main material. I really loved the result and the process too, since as I was making it and adding the details, I already had in mind how it would look, and that's how it was. Below I show you the materials and the step-by-step instructions.
Materiales | Materials |
---|---|
Limpiapipas blanco | white pipe cleaner |
Limpiapipas rojo y naranja | Red and orange pipe cleaners |
Tijera | Scissors |
Silicón | Silicone |
Papel aluminio | aluminum foil |
Silicón | Silicone |
Palillo | Toothpick |
Una perla | a pearl |
Paso a paso / Step by step
The first step I'm going to take is to take a piece of aluminum and place some cotton inside, shape it to make the body, then take a smaller piece of aluminum and form a ball for the head.

I'm going to glue both parts with silicone, we already have the main base of this figure, now I'm going to wrap the white pipe cleaners around a toothpick, I'm going to use approximately 10.

We start gluing from the head until it's completely covered. We can leave the bottom part free since it doesn't have pipe cleaners. You can shape it by pressing down on specific points, or with scraps of pipe cleaners, you can cover any empty spaces that need more volume.
I'm going to make the tail by folding the two-pointed pipe cleaner, cutting and gluing it. I'm also going to make the wings. I used a pipe cleaner for each one, placing one on top and one on the bottom.

I'm going to make the crest, chin, and the beak with the orange pipe cleaner. A tip to make it flat in this part and with less lint is to burn it a little with the kitchen lighter.
