Very good afternoon my dear readers, happy Tuesday to all and as always I would like to welcome you a new week to my artistic blog, where I like to share everything related to my drawings and illustrations; this time I come to present my latest participation for the dynamics of the community of #Splinterlands and this time I wanted to go a little more towards the theme of magic and sorcery, and decided to choose the card of (Queen of Crows). The Queen of Crows has the ability to communicate and also control the crows at will, the crows obey her and also protect her since she was just a little girl and that caused everyone around her to be very afraid of her and therefore lived a very lonely childhood; despite being marginalized she spent all her adolescence studying and learning in the dark arts, and over time her powers became greater and greater, as well as her resentment towards those who failed to understand and accept her:

Muy buenas tardes mis queridísimos lectores y lectoras, feliz martes para todos y como siempre me gustaría darles la bienvenida una nueva semana a mi blog artístico, donde me gusta compartir todo lo relacionado con mis dibujos e ilustraciones; en esta ocasión vengo a presentarles mi mas reciente participación para la dinámica de la comunidad de #Splinterlands y esta vez quise irme un poco más hacia la temática de la magia y hechicería, y decidí escoger la carta de (Queen of Crows). La Queen of Crows tiene la habilidad de comunicarse y además controlar a los cuervos a su antojo, los cuervos la obedecen y además la protegen desde que era tan solo una pequeña niña y eso causo que todos a su alrededor le tuviesen mucho miedo y por ello vivió una niñez muy solitaria; a pesar de haber sido marginada paso toda su adolescencia estudiando e ilustrándose en las artes oscuras, y con el tiempo sus poderes se hicieron más y más grandes, así como su rencor hacia los que no lograban entenderla y aceptarla:

To begin with, I wanted to give a slightly different essence to the character with respect to how she looks in the game card, that is to say that she looked more like a sorceress or witch performing spells with a mysterious magic book in her hands, but of course respecting the base; I drew her with a smiling and somewhat gloomy expression as if in the pages of her book she found just the spell she needed, besides that I changed some details to the clothes to print my style and personal touch. For the choice of colors I had it quite easy since within my color palette I had quite saturated and reddish tones to give a good painting to the details of the face, for example; for the skin I always like to start with soft airbrush to create a first volume, and then with flat brushes I define very very shadows, lights and also mixing shades to soften the skin.

Para empezar, quise darle una esencia levemente diferente al personaje con respecto a como se ve en la carta del juego, es decir que se viese mas como una hechicera o bruja realizando conjuros con misterioso libro mágico en sus manos, pero por supuesto respetando la base; la dibuje con una expresión sonriente y un tanto tétrica como si en las paginas de su libre encontró justo el hechizo que necesitaba, además de que a la ropa le cambie algunos detalles para imprimir mi estilo y toque personal. Para la elección de colores la tuve bastante fácil ya que dentro de mi paleta de colores contaba con tonalidades bastante saturadas y rojizos para darle un buen pintado a los detalles del rostro, por ejemplo; para la piel siempre me gusta empezar con aerógrafo suave para ir creando un primero volumen, y luego con pinceles planos voy definiendo muy muy sombras, luces y también mezclando tonalidades para suavizar la piel.

Something I always do with female characters is to create warm effects on the cheeks and nose, and this is easy to achieve with the airbrush and reddish colors without much pressure, and when I finish with the warmth I use the same layer to start working the expression of the face, in this case as I mentioned I wanted it to be a little sinister expression, I painted the eyes half closed with light grayish color and inside I created the iris with colors like soft purple and a little black; finished with the eyes I went to the lips and decided to use a range of bright purple to match very well with the eyes and of course with the general clothing of the character.

Algo que siempre hago con los personajes femeninos es crear efectos cálidos en las mejillas y nariz, y esto lo logro fácil con el pincel de aerógrafo y colores rojizos sin tanta presión, ya cuando termino con la calidez aprovecho la misma capa para empezar a trabajar las expresión del rostro, en este caso como les mencione quería que fuese una expresión un poco siniestra, pinte los ojos medio entrecerrados con color grisáceo claro y dentro cree el iris con colores como el purpura suave y un poco de negro; terminado con los ojos pase a los labios y decidí usar una gama de morados brillantes para que combinaran muy bien con los ojos y por supuesto con la vestimenta en general del personaje.

In the 3rd step I dedicated myself exclusively to give shape to the dress, as I told you I decided to make slight and subtle changes more to my style, to begin with, I used as a base an intermediate purple color to create a dress with bare shoulders but quite elegant with soft brushes to achieve a good shiny effect; after having the base of the dress I took a medium yellow color and created elegant golden details on the edges of the neck, bust and abdomen area, something important here was to create a new layer in cut out mode and add more fine golden details to give shine to the gold. Another thing I decided to do was to create sleeves from below the shoulders, but with a translucent fabric style, for that I used a dark purple color and lowered the opacity of the layer to 70%; another thing I did was to create a small pattern just in the abdomen area with reddish, white and blue colors, plus I gave a little lighting as well.

En el 3er paso me dedique exclusivamente a darle forma a la vestimenta que como les comenté decidí hacer leves y sutiles cambios mas a mi estilo, para empezar, use como base un color morado intermedio para crear un vestido de hombros descubiertos pero bastante elegante con pinceles suaves para así lograr un buen efecto brillante; después de tener la base del vestido tome un color amarillo medio y fui creando detalles dorados elegantes en los bordes del cuello, busto y en la zona del abdomen, algo importante aquí fue cree una nueva capa en modo recorte e ir agregando mas detalles dorados finos que le dieran brillo al dorado. Otra cosa que decidí hacer fue crear unas mangas que fuesen desde mas abajo de los hombros, pero con un estilo de tela medio traslucido, para eso use un color morado oscuro y baje la opacidad a la capa a un 70%; otra cosa que hice fue crear un pequeño patrón justo en la zona del abdomen con colore rojizos, blancos y azules, además que di un poco de iluminación también.

In the case of the painting of the hat I wanted to create it with a more rigid appearance and for this I had to mix much more the textures of the brushes and use many more colors to achieve that style much thicker than in the clothes, in addition that with yellow and mustard tones I gave shape to the kind of gold buckle that takes on one side of the hat; Once I finished with the hat I went straight to the creation of the book which was the personal touch that I decided to add to this representation, I used brown, gray and white tones since my intention was to give an antique and worn appearance to the book. For the final part I dedicated myself to build the background of my drawing setting everything as in a gloomy plane of a cemetery with pink, black and orange colors; at the end I wanted to complement everything a little more with some crows flying just in the background and many feathers falling in the front part, I also created a kind of magical energy effect emanating from the book and its eyes.

En el caso del pintado del sombrero quise crearlo con una apariencia un poco más rígida y para esto tuve que mezclar mucho mas las texturas de los pinceles y usar muchos mas colores para lograr ese estilo mucho mas grueso que en la ropa, además que con tonos amarillos y mostaza di forma a la especie de hebilla de oro que lleva por un lado del sombrero; una vez termine con el sombrero me pase directo a la crear el libre que fue el toque personal que decidí agregarle a esta representación, use tonos marrones, grises y blancos ya que mi intención era darle una apariencia antigua y desgastada al libro. Para la parte final me dedique a construir el fondo de mi dibujo ambientando todo como en un plano tétrico de un cementerio con colores rosados, negros y naranjas; al final quise complementar todo un poco más con algunos cuervos volando justo en el fondo y muchas plumas cayendo en la parte frontal, además cree una especie de efecto de efecto de energía mágica emanando del libro y de sus ojos.
