avatar

Hi all,

Introduction

Another post in this series. Thank you for your support in the previous posts 😊

This series intends to determine if there are other aspects of cards that may contribute to increasing its value. Based on your feedback I can focus on more/other things – so feel free to tell me where you want me to go into further detail.
I include some analysis on where the cards fit in terms of gameplay, strategy, comparison with other cards, and a market analysis of its price. Feel free to suggest what more do you want me to look into in this series, and your support is much appreciated!
In this edition I will be looking at the Dragon Jumper.

Gameplay Analysis

Dragon Jumper is a Legendary Dragon Monster from the Untamed set in Splinterlands. It is a fast, high-damage melee assassin with Opportunity, allowing it to strike the weakest enemy first. With a combination of Flying, Snare, and Stun, Dragon Jumper is one of the most dangerous backline eliminators in the game.

Mana Cost: 7
Attack Type: Melee
Abilities by Level
Level 1: Opportunity (Targets the enemy Monster with the lowest health, making it a deadly assassin)
Level 1: Flying (Increases evasion against non-Flying enemies, improving survivability)
Level 2: Snare (Removes Flying from enemy Monsters and prevents them from dodging attacks)
Level 3: Stun (Has a chance to stun the target, preventing it from attacking on the next turn)

Level-Based Insights

Level 1: Opportunity allows it to quickly eliminate weak enemy units, while Flying provides extra evasion.
Level 2: Snare makes it an anti-Flying specialist, ensuring it lands attacks against evasive enemies.
Level 3: Stun adds crowd control, giving it a chance to disable enemies and disrupt the opponent’s strategy.
Level 4: Max stats, making it one of the best offensive melee assassins in the game.

Comparative Analysis

How does this card compare to other similar ones?

Vs. Uraeus (Neutral - 3 Mana): Uraeus has Sneak and Poison, making it a strong backline killer, but Dragon Jumper hits harder, attacks faster, and has Stun for disruption.
Vs. Carnage Titan (Dragon - 9 Mana): Carnage Titan is a double-strike tank, while Dragon Jumper focuses on eliminating the weakest enemy quickly.
Vs. Silent Sha-Vi (Death - 5 Mana): Silent Sha-Vi has Sneak and high speed, but Dragon Jumper deals more damage, has better survivability, and brings Stun to the fight.

Key Takeaway
Dragon Jumper is a high-speed, high-damage assassin that targets weak enemies with Opportunity. Its Flying, Snare, and Stun make it a versatile and deadly attacker, excelling at disrupting enemy backlines and neutralizing evasive threats.

Synergies

Quix the Devious (Dragon Summoner): Reduces enemy Ranged and Speed, making Dragon Jumper even deadlier.
Brighton Bloom (Dragon Summoner): Gives all Monsters Flying, improving Dragon Jumper’s survivability even more.
Djinn Chwala (Dragon Tank): Acts as a frontline tank while Dragon Jumper eliminates weaker enemies.
Soulstorm (Death Monster): Another high-speed attacker that benefits from anti-Flying strategies.

Ruleset Performance

✅ Favorable Rulesets:
Equal Opportunity: All Monsters get Opportunity, but Dragon Jumper’s high speed makes it attack first.
Super Sneak: Allows it to target the backline while maintaining its assassin role.
Taking Sides: Strong due to being a Dragon card, which can be used with multiple splinters.

❌ Challenging Rulesets:
Reverse Speed: Its high speed becomes a disadvantage.
Noxious Fumes: Lacks Immunity or Self-Heal, making it vulnerable to Poison.
Broken Arrows: Doesn’t directly affect Dragon Jumper, but it may reduce ranged threats, limiting its effectiveness.

Market Analysis

Price Overview
Regular Foil: around $ 3
Gold Foil: around $ 98

Investment Potential
Dragon Jumper is a top-tier Opportunity attacker with strong offensive abilities and disruption tools. Its speed, high attack, and Stun ability make it a valuable long-term investment, particularly in aggressive Dragon-based strategies.

Ratings

Usefulness: 9.5/10 (One of the best Opportunity Monsters in the game)

Versatility: 9/10 (Works in many rulesets and can be used across multiple splinters)

Conclusion
