Waka Spiritblade was recently release for sale with a price tag of 5000 SPS + 500 vouchers and subsequently sold out within 45 seconds.
At the time of the sale the value of SPS ($0.13) and vouchers ($2.15) put the cost of one card at about $1755.
So within 45 seconds over $850,000 in total was paid to secure one of these rare and exclusive cards, and I wanted to know by who.
So I looked into the transaction on the block chain to find out.
Interesting Stats
5 different accounts made 19 attempts to purchase cards before the sale had started.
The earliest attempt was 3 minutes 42 seconds before the sale started from neoxian.
Sale started at 17:00:00
makakka was the first person to successfully purchase a card and mattclarke was the last.

Thank you, and congrats on being fast enough to get 3 Waka cards! Unfortunately it looks like nateaguila took all the developer luck though with his GF pull.
Haha, he sure did, lucky him!
This is brilliant. Thanks so much for the legwork, and for the tag. Really interesting to see I got the last one.
Everybody who missed out, missed out because of me :)

Hello, @m0r0s! This is @traciyork from the @ocd (Original Content Decentralized) curation team. We noticed you shared your first post here on Hive - congratulations and welcome! What an awesome look at the Waka Spiritblade card sale - very nicely done!
It would also be awesome if you could do an introduction post, so our community can get to know you better. For information on how to write an intro post, please check out the SELF INTRODUCTION section of the post 3 things Newbies should do in their first week on Hive.
Speaking of community, we have many different ones here on the blockchain, devoted to all kinds of interests. Here's a link so you can check them all out - Hive Communities . I think you'll find these two particularly interesting to start off with -

Also, as Hive can sometimes be quite confusing, the newly launched Newbies Guide should be helpful to you, as it is a growing repository of useful and easy to understand posts about how the Hive ecosystem works.
Please be aware that Hive is a bit different from other social media platforms since you are monetizing your blog, so it is important not to include content that you don't own without sources (and it shouldn't exceed 50% of the post). Since you're new, you may run into an RC (Resource Credits) error when trying to comment/post because you don't yet have enough Hive in your account yet. For assistance with a temporary delegation to get you started, be sure to check out the Gift Giver site.
For now, @lovesniper will follow your account and we are looking forward to seeing your intro post. Also, please mention (also known as tagging) @traciyork & @lovesniper in your intro post in order for us to be notified, so we can consider your post for OCD curation. Wow This is amazing! I always love posts like these. Where'd you even go to collect all this information?

Thanks.
Almost all transactions are posted to the block chain.
You can manually view all the transaction that are sent to the chain with sites like hiveblocks to get an idea of what it all looks like.
I just wrote a script in python to parse the info posted to the block chain and get a list of all transaction IDs and who made the transaction from people attempting to buy the Waka card.
But all the actual information is created and stored on splinterlands servers.
So then the script took that list of transaction IDs and had to check each with the splinterlands API to get back the transaction info.
That info tells if the transaction was successful or not.
If not successful it tells why (card not on sale, not enough sps/vouchers, sold out), otherwise if it was a successful transaction it gives the cards unique ID and if it's gold foil or not.
One you know a cards unique ID you can check info about it like who owns it currently, if its for sale or rent, delegate etc.
