RE: Is the declining value of DEC a problem for Splinterlands?

Sorry, saw this post late. I’m not sure if the burning of excess cards would push the price of DEC up. If there are too many level 1 cards available when I go to rent mine, then the value I can rent it for is only 100 DEC. But I have been thinking lately a good strategy might be to buy more level 1 cards if various monsters and combine them to level up the card. I think this would serve two purposes. One, reduce the amount of cards available for that level; and two, make the new upleveled card receive a higher rental income.

I am also in for the long haul and anticipate more folks coming into Hive to play Splinterlands. Unfortunately, I don’t have much time to play to earn DEC, so I just rent my small deck out. Also, as you have seen on my Chaos opening posts, I’m building that part of the deck and renting what I can. I couldn’t upvote so I’ll send a tip. Thanks for the post!

I buy the level 1 cards and level up. It's a good strategy for renting and it does reduce the number of cards. I use Peakmonsters for the bidding. That way I can put the bid low and only buy the cards when the market dips. It's a slow process on the small cards, but it is effective. Thanks for the response and the tip!
