LKP's Axie Log #52: Buba Supremacy // How to Utilize Backline 'Buba' to Reach Challenger Tier

Greetings Everyone!
Finally we reached the highest tier in Axie Origin which is Challenger 0. We got some inspiration from Hunter TV when he demonstrated the power of starter axies. He used Puffy with Heart of Ocean rune as a tank to make his team chunkier. Each axie has a standard of 320 health so that 75 additional hp for each one was a great advantage to let them sustain a few more hits. A midline Tripp and backline Buba both equip with the mystic rune Endless Anger is such a formidable force. Endless Anger was very OP in the current meta. At every start of the turn you'd get 3 rage but that's not all to it. In Tripp's case we can add the Mask of Frenzy charm for 4 potential points. Tripp is not a pure bred beast so if you have a 3x Nut pure bred beast then you could equip all three Nut Cracker cards with this charm instead of just 2. In Buba's case it was very worth it to put the neutral charm discount coupon to the buff card Sparky which make the energy consumption down from 1 to zero.
The above line up was so powerful that it's very likely to conquer your way to Challenger 0 within a day. On a side note, using a team which consisted of only free axies would certainly diminish the rewards. If I'm not mistaken you'd get a 100 moon shards for each win in the Challenger tier without any Ronin buff. So this is where we came in. If we have a triple nut pure bred beast or any beast axie with at least 12 potential points available then we could imitate the same strategy. The problem now is that this axies are very much in demand so they cost 2-4 times the price of your regular ones. If you have one available then that's great but if you have none better stick Tripp and/or Buba.

In the first scenario we tried just changing the aqua so that we could equip that Heart of Ocean rune and also gain an additional 50 moon shards for each win. The requirement for this one is not that high as any decent aqua will do. In our case we used the chops aqua with Timber and Teal Shell. It's not best but it has great shielding capabilities to eat some damage and stall the game till we accumulate enough rage for either our midline or frontline beast. Also, with the rising popularity of the mystic rune Gloomy Dice it's a great way to diversify both offense and defense cards in your deck.
The other option we have is to use two Aquas for frontline and midline. We can equip them both with heart of the ocean but we can also make some adjustments in the midline aqua like using other runes like Bloodlust or Calcium armor. There are pros and cons in using this one. By using 2 aquas as front and mid the backline can be safe longer but the downside is that it would diminish the potential firepower of having 2 enrage beasts almost once every turn. If one has no backline beast available we can choose between Trippy and Buba but personally I prefer Buba more. The reason for this is that Buba can accumulate rage faster because it has cards like Sparky, Foxy and Buba Brush.

Although Mask of Frenzy would be likely unusable due to the deficit of potential points the free Sparky is more than enough to compensate for this. Also the damage from Forest Hero in rage form is close to 300. This is a very menacing output considering that standard axies without runes and charms only have 320 base health. The only problem I had with this team is the drawing of cards because sometimes it's inevitable to have those really bad draws. It would be great if have a midline with something like Zeal or Hero to make plays alot more adaptable. All in all Buba is a great backline capable of competing in the top tier of ranked battles. There are many great line ups and compositions out there but if you have no idea where to start then I'd recommend getting a backline Buba with Endless Rage rune.
