Hello there Axie pips!

How's your day? Did you have a good grind today?

Mine's pretty average. The standing for today is 9 wins-1 draw-10 losses. I'm already satisfied with standing like this, even having only 8 wins for a day is not bad for me. I don't know, I think we have different level of 'tolerance' with regards to losses. Anyway, if you have some trouble dealing with losing streaks I published an article around 2 days ago titled Losing Streaks and How we deal with them. Written are some things that I've been doing when I have these unfortunate encounters. XD

There was some clutch battles in the games we played today. The only problem is that we lost most of them. We could have done more and had a better standing but not all things would go with what we want. Poison is really annoying in the latter stages of battle. We lost 3 battles by a hair's breadth because of them today. Imagine them not getting those nerfs. Anyway, this battle will somewhat highlight the card Woodman Power but it focuses more on the 1 v1 battle between two reptiles. We made some misplays but overall it still turned out great. So, without further ado let's start!

Almost 400 SHIELD wasted?

For this battle we're up against an RAP team. As much as possible I want to take down poison tanks without any of my axies getting poisoned but that is very difficult unless you have the bloodline of Nostradamus. JK. The target is to leave at least either mid or backline avoid being poisoned but things could go wrong and sometimes we have to risk killing their tank and get poisoned or just continue passing until we lose the game.

They passed in round 1 and we threw in a 2x Serious. It's quite easy to guess what teams will pass in the first round. High damage teams like Double Aquas or even BBP's are likely not to pass compared to teams like were up against. It's a risky but high damage teams can take down undefended tanks especially when you're up against a beast with Ronin + Donut. And it's even worst if they have a backline bird with Post Fight.

Great answer!

Anyway, we were successful in stealing two of their energies so we had no problem next round of our plant being taken down. They passed in round 2 which is not a bad choice. It was either they threw in that Serious + Pumpkin combo or just pass to save energy for the next round. Since the previous attack came from our plant and we got no high damage it's likely that they thought that we would also pass. What they didn't thought of is that we would play a Carrot + cactus combo. Carrot with it's mediocre damage is still bearable most the time but a last turn Cactus is painful even for bugs and beasts. They retaliated the next round and managed to take back the 2 energies we previously stolen. That make us even but they also gained additional 2 energies because of that 2x Tail Slap.

Almost 400 Shield!?

We got no choice but to sacrifice the plant even if we got a Pumpkin to defend. Remember that they had enough energy to make a successful backdoor attack which would likely target our mid if we put high shield on the plant. What we did was to attack using our beast cards. It's not the most ideal scenario as we want to take down something while wasting their cards on our defense but we got no choice but to open up their mid as they would open ours sooner. Look at at that shield it's almost 400! Using 2x Woodman + 2x teal Shell would be more awesome as it goes up passed 500 against plants but those situations are pretty rare.

Open Fire!

In round 5, they got 4 energy and we got 5. I was thinking that they could have done a 2x Lam + 2 reptile cards but looking at their cards in the replay I think that they passed because their fighting power was not enough to take down the mid. But if you at it, it was still enough to defend using 2x Aquaponics right? Anyway, since they passed our risk paid off and took down their aqua. Passing was a bad decision for them this time because they could have stalled the game longer. Since they passed we took down their aqua and regain 2 energy we used with Kotaro. It's now a 2 v1 in our favor. We just sacrificed our aqua so we could have enough energy for the 1 v1.

Reptile vs Reptile

Even if they had stun, it was in our favor because Catapult counters Tri Spike and Grass Snake (in a way); and Kotaro is a good answer to Disarm. We also got Bone Sail so there's a very low chance for us to run out of cards. We were first because our ID is lower. We fired 2x Tiny Dino + 2x Catapult which brought their full health to 179. They were saving their cards and just went for Grass Snake + Tri Spike + Chomp. We reflected significant damage which further brought them down to 61. At this point it was pretty much secured even with the stun. We only lost 30-40% of our hp because of high shielding. Their attack still ended up with a stun which was a good choice. Sadly their hp was not enough to sustain damage from Catapult + 2x Tiny Dino. It was a nice 1 v1 against a fellow reptile. We were lucky that we got enough energy at the start of this last battle.

And that's all for today.
Thank you so much for visiting.
See you next log!

Ciao~
