Overview

Today I brought a Brawl battle, where my opponent brought one of the strongest monster in the whole game, because she is very versatile and self sustainable thanks to her Heal ability. Her name is Quora Towershed and I couldn't use her in this battle, because as a Brawl battle she was completely banned from my monster pool. πŸ˜‡

My upcoming Battle ruleset(s)

image.png

RulesetDescription
Blood and SunderAll units have the Corrosive Ward ability.
Target PracticeAll Ranged and Magic attack Monsters have the Snipe ability.
Fire & RegretAll units have the Return Fire ability.

The mana cap for my next battle was 59, which is more than enough ti pick any monster and use any strategy that I want. Usually whenever their is a high mana cap I try to use one of my favorite combination, with Possibilus the Wise, Slade and the Coastal Sentry to get a huge amount of damage against the enemy front row. 😊

The Blood and Sunder ruleset will give the Corrosive Ward ability to all the monsters on the battlefield, which means that when a monster was hit with a melee attack the monster with this ability does 2 damage to the attacker's armor reduces the maximum armor of the attacker by 2.

The Target Practice ruleset is a very important one, because it will be essential the placement of the magic, ranged or non-attack monsters as they will be the main target for the monsters with this ability.

The Fire & Regret ruleset works like the Thorns ability, which will reflect 2 damage back to their attacker, but only if they were attacked by ranged attack monsters. πŸ˜‹

My lineup

image.png
Possibilus the Wise is an excellent and powerful Summoner, because he gives a lot of abilities to my monsters. The first is to increase their health by two and he also gives the Reach and Trample ability to them as well. This means that if I use a melee attack monster in the second position he or she will be able to attack from there. The Trample is also amazing, because if a melee attack monster manages to kill its target they will get a free attack against the following monster. πŸ˜†
Commander Slade was a very obvious choice as my main tank, because he has quite a lot of melee attack and amazing speed. On top of that he has a lot of armor and health to sustain the enemy incoming attacks. He might be able to soak up quite a lot of damage and that is why his mana cost is exactly 10. 😊

The Coastal Sentry is quite expensive, because she cost 10 mana as well just like my Slade. She has 3 melee attack damage, which wouldn't be so high on its own, but she also has the Double Strike ability, which means that she will be able to attack twice in every round. Luckily the Reach ability from her Summoner will help her to attack from the second position, so she will be a crazy damage dealer. πŸ’ͺ
The Djinn Oshannus is an excellent extra tank and damage dealer, because he has a lot of health and speed to protect himself against the enemy attacks. He has +2 magic attack, so he will ignore the enemy armors easily. πŸ˜†

image.png
Nerissa Tridawn is an excellent damage dealer in the Water Splinter, because her damage is +3 and she has got a lot of health as well, which will make sure that she will sustain quite a lot of lot of damage before she dies. πŸ€—
The Chaos Battlemage cost eight mana, which is not cheap, but he has +3 ranged attack, which is quite good. On top of that he has the Piercing ability, so if he will damage the enemy armor and destroys it any damage left on him will go through to their health. 😎

Edith Emberstar also cost eight mana just like my Battlemage and she is also a ranged attack damage dealer and she is a very good one as well. She has +4 ranged attack damage and because she is a Gladiator monster she has the Bloodlust ability as well (just like Quora), so if she manages to kill her target she will increase all of her stats by one. 😁

My opponent brought the Obsidian who is an Earth Summoner and she cost only four mana, which is quite good, but not necessary for this battle, because we have abundant mana to pick monsters and Summoners. Her power is to give +1 magic attack to all of her magic attack monsters. πŸ˜‹

In the first round the enemy tank took a very serious damage, thanks to my Slade and Sentry, but the Target Practice ruleset rendered all of my other monsters in my backline to attack their second monster who was their Quora who had quite a lot of health and the ability to Heal herself. πŸ˜†

In the second round my tank finished what he started killing their tank and by killing it he received a free attack thanks to his Trample ability from Possibilus the Wise. This extra attack allowed him to kill their Quora who was the most important monster in the enemy team. My Sentry continued attacking their next monster and managed to kill him, which meant to get a free attack as well to the monster behind. πŸ˜‡

She received only one extra attack even though she managed to kill her second target as well.

Anyway their was only two monster left in the enemy team and killing them was an easy task for my monsters. πŸ˜‰

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

My strategy was to utilise the powerful combination of Slade, Sentry and Possibilus in order to deal heavy amount of damage to their first monster. This worked perfectly as they quickly removed the enemy tank and even Quora, which sealed the fate of my opponent.

Sadly, which is good for me my opponent didn't really paid attention to the Target Practice ruleset and used her Quora in the second position, which means that all of my Ranged and Magic attack monsters will target her. If he would use her at the end of her backline with a bit stronger monsters front of her, she would have the time and damage to start killing my monsters. 😊
