Social Media Challenge | Battling against Kron the Undying! 😊

This week I brought a Wild Ranked battle where I was chellenged against a pretty strong team setup trying to take advantage one of the strongest Earth monster from the beginning of the Splinterlands history. πŸ˜‡

RulesetDescription
StampedeThe Trample ability can trigger multiple times per attack if the trampled Monster is killed.
Deflection FieldAll units have the Deflection ability.
Even StevensOnly Monsters with even Mana costs may be used in battles.

The mana cap was 47, which is quite good to use any kind of strategy that I would like, but the most important limiting factor will be the Even Stevens ruleset, because it will eliminate all the monsters with Even mana. This plays a huge role assembling our teams, so it is important to use a good strategy. 😊

The Deflection Field ruleset will give the Deflection ability to all the monsters on the battlefield, which means that they would be immune to any Reflect or indirect damage.

The Stampede is also a good ruleset, because it will give the Trample ability to the monsters and that means if a Melee attack monsters kills its target it will give an extra attack on the monster behind it. Sadly this can not be applicable to any Sneak attack monster, because if they manage to kill their target their will be no monster behind it. πŸ˜‰

My lineup and the decision behind it!

Summoner
Lobb Lowland

image.png

Lobb Lowland is an amazing Summoner, because he has the ability to bring an additional Gladiator monster into the battle and also be able to decrease the Speed of his enemy monsters. This feature of him will allows me to sue a pretty strong Gladiator monster, who is able to kill the enemy monsters from their backline. πŸ˜‹

Main Tank
Terraceous Grunt
image.png

The Terraceous Hulk cost a lot of mana, but the mana cap was so quite good, so I was able to pick him. He also has the Dodge ability as well, which means that he is able to evade all the incoming Melee and Ranged attacks by 25%. πŸ˜†

Off-Tank
Arkemis the Bear
image.png

Arkemis the Bear is always a good choice as a tank, because he has a lot of Health and quite good Melee attack damage even on its own. More importantly he has the Protect ability, which will give +2 Armor to all of his friendly monsters as long as he is alive. This is important to stall the time until my Katrelba or the Earthquake will kill my enemies. πŸ˜†

Little Sneaker
Iza the Fanged
image.png

Iza the Fanged is an interesting Ranged attack monster, because she also possess the Sneak ability even though she is a ranger. Her damage is only one, but her Scavenger ability will allow her to increase her own Health by one every time a monster dies on the battlefield. πŸ˜‹

The Sneaker
Katrelba Gobson
image.png

Katrelba Gobson will be my key monster for this battle and I have built my team around her. Stats wise she is not that powerful, because her Melee attack damage is only two, but she has the Double Strike ability, so she will be able to attack twice against the last monster in the enemy team. Her most important ability, which will make her truly powerful is the Bloodlust, which means if she manages to kill her target she will increase her own stat by one for the rest of the battle. πŸ€—

The Opportunist
Thanalorian Blade
image.png

The Thanalorian Blade has +2 Melee attack damage and she also has the Opportunity ability hence I have choosen her. She will always target the lowest Health monster from the enemy team, which is quite good to finish off some of the low Health monster survived the round. 😌

Backline Protector
Clockwork Aide
image.png

The Clockwork Aide doesn't have any attack on its own, but he will be an excellent backline protector if my opponent decide to use a similar tactic like me. He has only one Health, but with a lots of Armor, so he is quite good to protect my backline against the Sneak attacks, because it is very rare that a monster with Sneak attack has Magic attack. He also has the Rust ability to further remove the enemy Armors by two and also the Swiftness ability, which will increase the Speed of all of his friendly monsters by one. 😌

My opponent brought the same Lyanna Natura who is an Earth Summoner and one of the original Summoner that exist in this game. Her ability is only to give +1 Health to all of her monsters, but at least her mana cost is only three. 😊

The first round was perfect, because my tactic was to start attacking the enemy backline and such my Katrelba attacked their Ranged attack damage dealer and managed to kill her, which increased all of the stats of my Katrelba by one. I also lost my tank as well against the enemy Magic attacks, but that is why I used Arkemis to replace him in case he dies.

In the second round Katrelba shined again killing their Magic attack damage dealer, which also activated her Bloodlust ability. Thanks to his huge Health and Armor my Arkemis barelly, but survived the second round. πŸ˜‰

The third round started with Katrelba killing spree removing their Healer, which was an important factor in order to finish of their **Kron the Undying. Soon after that I lost my second tank, but at least their Kron was badly damaged already and the first round will start with my Katrelba attacking him.

Just like I said in the fourth round my Katrelba killed their Kron, which was a huge relief in order to win this battle and in the fifth round my team killed another of their monster and only one left on the battlefield.

Usually the Chain Golem is pretty strong, but in this case my Katrelba was so strong that he was unable to do anything more than just surviving his last round.

Katrelba was a huge and important key monster in this battle and if you as a player do not prepare yourself against the Sneak attack monsters they will surpirise you big time. Luckily my opponent wanted to take advantage of their Kron and wanted to help him with his backline, but in this case my team killed them from backwards. πŸ€—
