My Weekly Battle Mage Secrets - Wands Out
Overview
The new Weekly ruleset Challenge is an amazing twist that I am enjoying so far and I hope there will be twists like that in the future to keep this Challenge's fresh. 😁
This week the ruleset is the Wands Out, which means that only units with magic attacks may be used.
The best advice is to use Phase, Void, Void Armor and Magic Reflect abilities to counter the incoming magic attacks.
The upcoming Battle ruleset

Ruleset | Description |
---|---|
Wands Out | Only units with magic attacks may be used. |
Little League | Only Monsters & Summoners that cost 4 Mana or less may be used in battles. |
The mana cap for my next battle was 50, which is quite nice, because I can use whatever I want and try to utilise a nice strategy using the ruleset, where only the magic attack monsters are available to play.
The main problem with this battle was the Little League ruleset, which limits the mana cap of each monsters by four, so I could not use more than 28 mana to setup my lineup, which might result a mirror match.
The best option here would be the Obsidian who gives +1 magic to all of his monsters or Thaddeus Brood who will decrease the magic attack and speed for all the enemy monsters on the battlefield by one, so this two summoner will counter each other out, but the most imprtant between the two is that the monsters of the Obsidian has a bit more damage and the monsters with Thaddeus has got Life Leech, which might be enough to sustain more damage than my opponent. 😇
My lineup
![]() | Thaddeus Brood is a Death summoner and such he likes to de-buff his enemies, so in this case he decreased the magic attack and speed of the enemy monsters by one, which is amazing in a battle where only magic attack monsters are available to play. 😁 |
The Venari Spellsmith is my "weakest" monster under four mana, so I have used him as a mini tank to try to soak up some damage instead of my other more important monsters. His three health is not that much, but under four mana it is difficult to find better one. 😜 | ![]() |
![]() | The Revealer is an excellent monster for only four mana, because he has the Stun ability, which if it works (the trigger chance is 50%) it will Stun his target making him unable to do anything in his next move. 😆 |
The Life Sapper is one of the key monster to win this game, because he has the Life Leech ability, which is crucial to increase his own health to sustain a lot of damage from the enemy monsters. 😉 | ![]() |
![]() | The Venari Bonesmith has a similar role like the Life Sapper, because he also has the Life Leech ability, but on top of that he has the Poison ability, so ifhe manages to trigger that his target will lose two health in every end of the round. 🤗 |
Doctor Blight is another Poison capable monster and even thought he doesn't have too much damage on its own his Poison could mean life and death in a low mana battle like this. 😇 | ![]() |
![]() | The Spirit Hoarder is just a cheap damage magic attack monster and I didn't really have any other option to choose from, because I could only choose from like 8 monster, so I picked the one who has at least good level for this battle not to lose any reward. 😅 |
The Battle

My opponent brought the same summoner like me, because there was really only two options, which I mentioned before. For this battle it will be crucial to activate the Poison ability on both sides and whoever will do that before or more often will win the game easily. That 2 extra damage from the Poison is very important especially in a Little League ruleset. 😆
In the first round me and my opponent both lost our weakest link in the battle, which was the Venari Spellsmith and on top of that I had some bad luck as well, because he managed to Poison my Revealer, so I have lost him at the end of the round.
The battle was pretty fierce as I lost one of my Life Leech monster and at least my team managed to kill two of his monsters.
The Life Leech ability was very important in this battle, but also the Poison ability as well. There was pure luck which monster will trigger that on their enemies and it turned out that I had a slight more luck to do that than my opponent did and we managed to secure the Victory for this battle. 😇

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
My strategy worked as I wanted, but overal my opponent had a much better chance winning this game, because he used his Life Leecher monsters at the back of his team trying to give them more time to increase their own health. Luckily the Poison god was on my side and with the help of that my team could overcome my opponent team. 😁
