Overview

The new Weekly ruleset Challenge is an amazing twist that I am enjoying so far and I hope there will be twists like that in the future to keep this Challenge's fresh. 😁

This week the ruleset is the Lost Legendaries, which means that Legendary units may not be allowed in the battle, but the Legendary summoners will still be usable.

There are no special tricks for this ruleset, because it is just simply reducing the pool of monsters to choose from hence assembly the setup should be much easier! 😊

The upcoming Battle ruleset

RulesetDescription
Lost LegendariesLegendary Monsters may not be used in battles.
Little LeagueOnly Monsters & Summoners that cost 4 Mana or less may be used in battles.
Close RangeRanged attacks may be used in the first position in battles.

The mana cap for my next battle will be 39, which normally allows me to build a decent team, but in my case the Lost legendaries and the Little League ruleset tied my hand so tight that it was very difficult to come up with a good team. 😏

There was four Splinter available and I had to choose the one with the best chance using monsters that cost 4 or less mana.

My lineup

Quix the Devious is a four mana Legendary summoner and even thought he is legendary I was able to use him to lead my team. He cost only 4 mana and give two de-buff to the enemy team, which is to reduce their ranged attack damage and health by one. 😉
Last week there was the Little League Battle Mage Secrets and I learnt a lot from that, so this time I could use that experience to overcome this battle. I just leveled up my Xenith Monk in order to take advantage of his Heal ability, which he receives on Level 2 and as a 4 mana creature he is the perfect tank for this battle. 😊

The Silvershield Warrior is an excellent off-tank, because he has a lot of armor and health to replace my Xenith Monk in case he will die, but more importantly he is able to attack from the second position thanks to his Reach ability with his +3 melee attack. 🤗
The Venari Spellsmith is just kind of a filler monster, because unfortunately his abilities is quite useless here, so I tried to use his +1 magic attack, which will ignore the enemy armor. 😌

The Time Mage is like a monster whom was built to play in the Little League ruleset, because she is an excellent fit for any kind of Life team. She cost only 4 mana and her +2 magic damage is a lot for this kind of ruleset. She has two perfect ability, which is the Slow (reduce the speed of the enemy monsters by one) and the Rust. (which will remove 2 armor from all the enemy monsters) 😇
The Venary Crystalsmith is an inevitable member of any Life team, because he has a very important ability, which is the Tank Heal. Normally he also has +2 ranged attack, which is quite nice unless your opponent doesn't interfere with that. 😅

The Peacebringer was my main damage dealer with his +3 ranged attack damage (shame on you Quix), so I had to use him at the back of my team in order to keep him alive as long as possible. This was a risky move, because if my opponent will bring a Sneak monster that would kill this poor monster quickly. 😜

My opponent had a similar idea like me bringing one of the best Summoner for this battle who is Quix the Devious. He mixed his team with the Life Splinter as well, but he invited two Dragon monster into his team.

In the first round there was a lot of damage going around and both of us lost our Xenith Monks, so it was time to see who's off-tank is stronger in the following round. 😬

The armor on my Silvershield Warrior saved him dying quicker than his Basilisk and he was able to receive a nice prtion of heal from his fellow teammate of the Crystalsmith.

I managed to create a slight advantage like that and being the last monster to attack my Warrior killed his Time Mage as well.

It was inevitable to lose my Warrior, because the Close Range ruleset allowed his monsters to attack from the first position, but we were a bit more than his monsters and my team easily finished up his remaining troops and giving me the victory. 😁

Battle Result

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

My strategy was to decrease my opponent ranged attack and health to create a bit of advantage for my team, but my opponent brought a Quix as well, so they were cancelling themselves out. 😋

I have tried to bring the best mana cost per stats value monsters for this battle, so I think the Peacebringer and the Silvershield Warrior was an excellent choice for this kind of battle and without either of them I might lose this battle. 😉

I made a quick comparison if I would have changed those two monsters in this battle how the outcome will change, so let's see that!

Team 1 is mine, so if I would change my Warrior and Peacebringer to the same monsters like him the outcome would be totally different! 😅
