My Actifit Report Card: December 02 2025

I started my journey in Bourton-on-the-Water, often referred to as the 'Venice of the Cotswolds' due to its charming little bridges spanning the River Windrush. As I strolled along the riverbank, I admired the quaint stone cottages with their 'Cotswold stone' facades, which glowed warmly in the sunlight. The sound of water flowing and the occasional laughter from families enjoying the view made for a lovely atmosphere.
Continuing my walk, I followed the trail towards Upper Slaughter, a village known for its stunning beauty and tranquility. The path wound through rolling hills and open fields, dotted with sheep grazing lazily. Along the way, I met a local farmer named Tom, who shared stories about the history of the land and how farming has changed in the region over the years. He spoke passionately about sustainable practices and the importance of preserving the local environment.
As I reached Upper Slaughter, I couldn’t help but admire the picturesque scenery. The village is famous for its historic watermill and the peaceful ambiance that seems to envelop it. I took a moment to sit by the river and enjoy the view, taking in the sound of the gently flowing water and the rustling leaves.
On my way back, I stopped at a quaint tea shop in Bourton-on-the-Water, where I enjoyed a slice of homemade cake and a cup of Earl Grey tea. While I was there, I struck up a conversation with an elderly couple who were visiting from London. They shared stories of their own travels and fond memories of exploring the Cotswolds in their youth.
Overall, it was a delightful day filled with stunning sights, enriching conversations, and a renewed appreciation for the beauty and history of England's countryside. I
