My Actifit Report Card: August 20 2025

One of the highlights of my walk was reaching the iconic Seven Sisters cliffs. Standing at the edge, I gazed out over the English Channel, marveling at the striking white chalk cliffs that have stood for centuries. The contrast of the blue sea against the stark white cliffs is something I could never tire of. As I walked along the path, I stumbled upon a small group of hikers. We chatted briefly, and they shared tales of their own walks along the coast, including stories of a local legend about shipwrecks that occurred long ago.
Further along the way, I ventured through the charming village of Alfriston. With its thatched-roof cottages and historical buildings, it felt like stepping back in time. I popped into a quaint tea shop, where I met an elderly gentleman who had lived in the village his entire life. He regaled me with stories of the village's history, including its connection to the 14th-century Crickhowell Church and the role it played during the English Civil War.
As I continued my journey, I encountered numerous sheep grazing peacefully on the hillsides, which added to the quintessential English countryside charm. The sound of their soft bleating mixed with the rustling of leaves, creating a serene soundtrack for my walk.
By the end of the day, I felt a deep appreciation for the history and natural beauty surrounding me. Walking through such a rich landscape, I couldn't help but reflect on how the places I've traveled have shaped my understanding of England's past. Each path, each story, and each person I meet adds another layer to the tapestry of history I so love to explore.
