Hello Splinterlands Summoners and welcome to another edition of Social Media Challenge! Another season has just wrapped up where I ended up in Silver II. I earned near 32k Glint tokens and I have already a total of 169k tokens I'm saving up for the new Conclave Arcana reward cards. I also earned SPS from my daily battles and participation in Guild Brawls so its a profitable effort while I enjoy playing the game at the same time.

I'm tempted to buy a Holloween skin but I have to temper my buying and focus on cards first. It's the only way for me to have a competitive deck otherwise, I won't reach Gold in the near future.

Guild Brawl

We have also just finished our brawl with our guild ranking in fourth place. I contributed seven wins out of nine battles. Each of us earned 59 SPS and 4400 Merits.

Featured Battles

Battle 1 - Are You Not Entertained?

Whenever this is the ruleset, I always choose the Earth team with Quora for the Gladiator card. I had the opportunity to use Quora again in ranked battles and placed her in the tank position. The new combo I use is the Virid Venomancer that gives Quora the Shield ability, making her more tanky and giving her an advantage against enemy Quora cards in one on one battles. The Shield ability does not get removed even if Virid Venomancer gets eliminated. The next cards I used were elves to take advantage of the archon's Bloodline Dominion ability, Execute. I have a one mana unit in the last position as a filler.

The enemy team also chose Quora but his archon is Underboss Fabino. He placed his Quora in second position and has damage dealers in the back including the legendary Mahkah Hemlig.

I have six units against the enemy's five but only four of his units deal damage. This gave me the advantage in this battle. It's practically six against four units. The enemy archon poisoned my Quora at the start of the battle and also eliminated my rear unit. My team countered and eliminated the enemy's Mahkah Hemlig. My Quora is poisoned but she heals and regains health each round. The enemy Quora's damage is weaker because her magic attack was debuffed by my archon. This advantage also led to my victory in this battle.

Battle 2 - Explosive Weaponry

The Explosive Weaponry ruleset gives Blast ability to all units. This makes the battle depend on speed and amount of damage. I chose the Dragon splinter and picked fast units including a Drakoshan. For my tank I had Folen Flameeye followed by Thunderhoof Nomad in second position. I picked her for the second position unit because of her Deflect ability, making her immune to Blast damage. In third I put the Night Reaper, a high damage and super fast unit. In fourth and fifth I had units with the Opportunity ability. They will work together to hunt the enemy's middle units and maximize the Blast damage. In the last position I had a unit with the Sneak ability to do damage to the enemy's rear unit.

The enemy team has a level five archon while mine was only level three. He's got decent low mana tank followed by a melee unit with Reach ability. In third he had Olivia of the Brook but only level one so she doesn't have her powerful Mimic ability. The rest of his units are magic and ranged.

The battle was a close one until round three when my team eliminated the enemy frontline and he got left with ranged units that cannot attack from first position. This turned the tide of battle in my favor and I was able to win

The Grind Never Stops

The new season saw me starting in Bronze 1. I'm grinding again to accumulate more Glint for the next reward cards. The grind never stops in Splinterlands. We keep playing, earning and having fun!
