Our Recent Guild Brawl and Buying Gladiator Cases

Hello Splinterlands Summoners and welcome to another edition of Social Media Challenge! Another brawl was successfully concluded by our guild. In today's post, I will show our performance, the rewards we received and the Gladiator cards I bought from the shop.
Guild Ranking and Performance
Our guild didn't do to well in the recent brawl, only managing seventh place. We won seventy nine battles and lost one hundred and nine. We still won eighty seven crowns we can use to upgrade our guild buildings.

I performed great in this brawl. I won eight battles out of nine, contributing twenty four points. Each of us who joined the brawl earned around 4.5k merits and 60 SPS. Still a decent reward for joining brawls.

Gladius Case Purchase and Opening
I saved around 9k merits which I used to buy four Gladius cases. Each case contain five cards with one guaranteed rare or higher. I will have twenty new cards in my collection.

I finally pulled a legendary after weeks of running dry. This time it's another copy of Jini Guise.

Featured Battles
Battle with the Dragon Splinter

The ruleset in this battle includes Thick Skinned. Although there is also Melee Mayhem, it's better to use magic units because physical attackers are nerfed. I formed my team with magic damage dealers in mind. In this battle, I chose Dragon.
Kavor Skarn
Kavor Skarn is not really a notable archon. He doesn't give any buffs other than his Bloodline Dominion of additional speed. He only needs three mana though and he's cheap so easy to level up. He can also be used with all splinters so if you're on a limited budget, start with a Dragon archon.
Drybone Megalodon
Drybone Megalodon is great damage dealer tank. It deals four melee damage and has three speed. It has three armor and seven health on defense. On abilities, it has Flank that allows me to use another tank behind it. It also has the Retaliate ability that grants it a 50% chance to counterattack.
Molten Elemental
The Molten Elemental is an ideal second position unit. It's also a decent tank with two attacks and four speed. It has decent defense of an armor and five health. It can fly increasing its chance of evasion and it also has Void to defend against magic attacks.
Night Reaper
Night Reaper is my key card whenever I use the Dragon splinter. It's especially strong in Earthquake ruleset with its dual abilities of Flying and Wingbreak. It deals three magic damage and has four speed. It's has good defense of an armor and ten health, making it an alternative tank.
Larissa Kerato
Larissa Kerato is a legendary gladiator card. She's a glass cannon damage dealer having two magic attacks and Dual Strike ability.
Chaos Evoker
Chaos Evoker is a common card that has great abilities. She deals two magic damage and has three speed. She has decent defense of an armor and five health similar to Molten Elemental. Her abilities sets her apart and she's misclassified as a common in my opinion. She has the powerful Blast ability that was considered overpowered in the Untamed set. She also has Ambush, making her strike first before the start of the round.
The enemy had a similar idea of using magic units. He had Lorkus, a legendary archon who adds melee and magic buffs to allied units. On tank he had Infernal Firestorm who deals two magic damage. He also had Helheim Demon, a magic damage dealer who can fly and has Taunt ability. He had a healer in Arachne Weaver who also deals two magic damage. The rest of his team was followed by two more magic damage dealers.
Placing Helheim Demon in the middle of the pack was not a smart idea. It maximized the effect of Chaos Evoker's Blast ability, damaging two more units beside Helheim Demon. It can fly so it was also a target by my Night Reaper. The enemy units were decimated and while he also defeated my two tanks, Night Reaper was there to take the tank duties. Larissa's Bloodlust ability was triggered twice, making her attacks more powerful. Soon, my team took the victory.
