Hey @daje10, I really liked your article and your write-up about deck looking. As a guy that I played several card games in the past (HS etc) I have to say that always someone would find a way to find out the cards in your deck. The higher you climb in the ladder the easier it gets to predict the cards that your opponent might have and the reason for that is that the decks are being repetitive because the majority of the people on Diamond/Mythic rank play the "meta" decks. I've caught myself several times to predict exactly my opponent's next move without even doing the deck looking because I've encountered this specific deck a hundred times. So my conclusion is that I am not really bothered that someone might look at my deck because if I play my cards correctly he would achieve nothing but I guess it shouldn't be that easy to find out this information too! Thank you for this, always interesting to get input from players. I would say the very fact that you are able to predict the next move your opponent makes is proof you have developed the skill I am talking about.

But yes, the higher you climb the more narrow the deck selection becomes. Usually, it is only 1 or 2 cards that can vary in decks at most.

And yes in a perfect world people would not need to deck look as they would have spent the time to develop the skill. The main problem however I see with it is in tournaments. As there the best place to try your decks is ranked, as that is where you will play against the best opponents. Well, I guess direct challenge can work as well if you have someone to play against.

But overall here you can get the max out of deck looking.
