Girl in a hot cup

Hello everyone, I was thinking of what to call this one. Hot tea? Spill the tea? She's in a very hot cup so that's a tough call. Also, I seem to enjoy putting people in tea cups. At least this is my second successful attempt to do so.

This is a whimsical art piece as I was just looking for something simple to do. In the end it took way longer even though it looks so simple because of all the choices and trials and error that occurred. This is something that's hard about a creative process. I find realistic art easier to do because I don't have to think as much or be the original creator. I just have to replicate. Replication is a difficult thing as well but at least you know what colors to use or how the object should look like instead of coming up with yours.

I started with a sketch

And then I began to paint in colors I felt looked good together

And this is the stage I spent the longest time trying to add something magical because it looked very basic. I like playing with elements do light so it's not surprising I chose to do this here. Layers like the soft glow and multiply were used to create so many effects and I played around with the blending tools to create the illusion of smoke
