On Splinterlands, in Ranked Play, there are less than three days left until the end of season 159.
Season 159 is the first season in which Arcana Conclave cards have entered into the game.
Before I share my play activity and progress on Splinterlands I will share some interesting and recent news regarding Splinterlands
Yesterday, May 27, the Splinterlands Play menu was expanded with Challenge and Practice game modes.
These two game modes have been updated and improved.
I tried the Practice mode today and really liked it because it can be very useful for new players to understand the game dynamics but also for all players to battle-test the cards before considering whether to buy or rent them.

Closed this informative parenthesis I now share my game activity and progress in the two formats of ranked play: Modern Format and Wild Format.
My game activity and progress in Modern Format
Modern Format is my favorite format because there are no bots and I can enjoy playing against human people like me.
The change that had the most impact on the game dinamics nel Modern Format was the exit of the Chaos Legion set cards from Modern Format.
I knew that without my Chaos Legion cards I would worsen my seasonal game results, but I was happily surprised that I could still play in Modern Format's Diamond leagues.
In fact, before the release of the new set of cards, when I could use my Chaos legion cards in Modern Format, I had 15 top-level Archons (summoners) and many top-level unit cards.
Now in Modern Format I can only use 1 maximum level archon: Akane level 4
This is why Akane is always my choice when archons of the Drakoshan element (formerly Dragon element) can be used.
For the moment, I have excluded the possibility of renting the highest level archons that can be used in the Modern Format because the cost of renting is very high and would eat up most of my in-game rewards.
So my results in the first season without my Chaos Legion cards and my Riftwatchers cards are worse but they are still good results especially because they were unexpected.
In fact using only one top level summoner, my Rebellion cards (only three top level cards) and Rebellion reward cards (24 top level cards) I am placed at rank 85 on the Diamond leaderboard with 102 wins out of 209 battles.
These results of mine could mean that few players have many Arcana Conclave cards while many players are, like me, in the process of building a competitive Arcana Conclave card collection in the Modern Format.
In building my Arcana Conclave card collection, I have chosen to start with the purchase of card packs.
To date I have purchased:
- 10 Standar packs
- 57 Starter packs
- 1 Alchemy pack
Thanks to these purchases I have 243 cards of the Conclave Arcana set with a total of 424 BCX and a market value of $96.59.
To increase the level and number of Arcana Conclave cards in my possession today I purchased 17 more starter packs incentivized by the estimated value of the starter packs that I found to be higher than the purchase price.
In fact based on the calculation found in the Pack Stats section of Peakmonsters the estimated profit (estimated value - purchase price) is = +14.88%.

I am still at the beginning of upgrading my Arcana Conclave cards but step by step I will increase the level of the cards I like the most.

My game activity and progress in the Wild Format
In the Wild Format I play with libertygame27 which is my curation account for SPT tokens.
The Wild Format is the realm of bots and battle helpers and for that reason I do not play manually because I do not enjoy playing manually against bots.
If there were no bots in Wild Format this format would be the most fun format in my opinion but since bots are allowed in this format I have also adapted and in Wild Format I use XBOT.
My Chaos Legion cards can no longer be useful to me in Modern Format but in Wild Format they are showing to be very useful because after 13 game sessions played by XBOT, libertygame27 started from Gold I league and now he is in Champion III league at rank 3 in Gold leaderboard.
In thirteen sessions I earned a total of 219.11 SPS (273.89 SPS - 20% XBOT fees).
219 SPS are worth 2214 DEC.
There are still 2-3 more sessions to go, but so far I am not very satisfied with these results.
While I can cover and exceed the cost of the Wild Pass (2000 DEC) on the other hand a profit of only 200-500 DEC per season seems really too small and if these should be the results also in the next seasons maybe I will decide to play only in Survival Mode (when it will be reactivated) or I will choose to rent or sell my Wild cards.
However, it is still early to make these assessments and I have decided to do 3 seasons of testing before deciding what to do.
My reasoning would change for the better in case Splinterlands decides to remove bots from the Wild Format because playing manually even in the Wild Format only against human players would be a lot of fun for me and the financial side would take a back seat for me.
My last battles played in Modern Format and Wild Format
I end this post by showing my last two battles won, my last battle won in Modern Format and my last battle won in Wild Format to show the difference in SPS gain in different leagues and with different amount of staked SPS.
In the next picture you can see my last battle I played and won with @libertycrypto27 in the Modern Format in the Diamond II league with a SPS boost x8.26 (87K SPS staked)
This battle is interesting because I could not use level 4 Akane and despite using all level 1 cards, including 2 cards of the Arcana Conclave set, I won the battle by gaining 8.96 SPS.
In the next image you can see my last battle I won playing with @libertygame27 in the Wild Format in the Champion III league using XBOT and with a SPS boost x3.09 (53.5K SPS staked including 50K SPS staked received in delegation from my main account)

Ieri 27 maggio il menu Play di Splinterlands è stato ampliato con le modalità di gioco Challenge e Practice.
Queste due modalità di gioco sono state aggiornate e migliorate.
Oggi ho provato la modalità Practice e mi è piaciuta molto perchè può essere molto utile per i nuovi giocatori per capire le dinamiche di gioco ma anche per tutti i giocatori per provare in battaglia le carte prima di valutare se acquistarle o prenderle in noleggio.

La mia attività di gioco e i miei progressi nel Modern Format
Il Modern Format è il mio formato preferito perchè non ci sono i bots e posso divertirmi a giocare contro persone umane come me.
Sapevo che senza le mie carte Choas Legion avrei peggiorato i miei risultati di gioco stagionali ma sono rimasto felicemente sorpreso di riuscire ancora a giocare nelle leghe Diamond del Modern Format.
Infatti prima del rilascio del nuovo set di carte, quando potevo usare le mie carte Chaos legion nel Modern Format, avevo a disposizione 15 Archons (evocatori) di massimo livello e molte carte unità di massimo livello.
Adesso nel Modern Format posso usare solo 1 archon di massimo livello: Akane di livello 4
Per questo motivo Akane è sempre la mia scelta quando è possibile utilizzare archons dell'elemento Drakoshan (ex elemento Dragone).
Per il momento ho escluso la possibilità di noleggiare gli archons di massimo livello utilizzabili nel Modern Format perchè il costo del noleggio è molto alto e mangerebbe gran parte delle mie ricompense di gioco.
Quindi i miei risultati nella prima stagione senza le mie carte Chaos Legion e le mie carte Riftwatchers sono peggiorati ma sono cumunque dei buoni risultati soprattutto perchè inaspettati.
Infatti usando un solo evocatore di massimo livello, le mie carte Rebellion (solo tre carte di massimo livello) e le carte reward Rebellion (24 carte di massimo livello) sono posizionato al rank 85 della leaderboard Diamond con 102 vittorie su 209 battaglie.
Questi miei risultati potrebbero voler dire che pochi giocatori hanno molte carte Conclave Arcana mentre molti giocatori sono, come me, in fase di costruzione di una collezione di carte Conclave Arcana competitiva nel Modern Format.
Nella costruzione della mia collezione di carte Conclave Arcana ho scelto di partire dall'acquisto dei pacchi di carte.
Fino ad oggi ho acquistato:
- 10 Standar packs
- 57 Starter packs
- 1 Alchemy pack
Grazie a questi acquisti ho 243 carte del set Conclave Arcana per un totale di 424 BCX e un valore di mercato di 96.59$.
Per aumentare il numero di carte Conclave Arcana in mio possesso oggi ho acquistato altri 17 starter packs incentivato dal valore stimato degli starter packs che ho trovato superiore al prezzo di acquisto.
Infatti in base al calcolo presente nella sezione Pack Stats di Peakmonsters il profitto stimato (valore stimato - prezzo di acquisto) è = +14.88%.

La mia attività di gioco e i miei progressi nel Wild Format
Nel Wild Format gioco con libertygame27 che è il mio curation account per i token SPT.
Il Wild Format è il regno dei bots e dei battle helpers e per questo motivo non gioco manualmente perchè non mi diverto a giocare manualmente contro i bots.
Se non ci fossero i bots nel Wild Format questo formato sarebbe il formato più divertente secondo me ma dato che i bots sono consentiti in questo formato mi sono adeguato anche io e nel Wild Format uso XBOT.
Le mie carte Chaos Legion non possono più essermi utili nel Modern Format ma nel Wild Format si stanno mostrando molto utili perchè dopo 13 sessioni di gioco giocate da XBOT, libertygame27 è partito dalla lega Gold I e adesso è in lega Champion III al rank 3 nella Gold leaderboard.
In tredici sessioni ho guadagnato un totale di 219.11 SPS (273.89 SPS - 20% fees di XBOT).
219 SPS valgono 2214 DEC.
Mancano ancora 2-3 sessioni ma per il momento non sono molto soddisfatto di questi risultati.
Se da un lato riesco a coprire e superare il costo del Wild Pass (2000 DEC) dall'altro lato un guadagno di soli 200-500 DEC a stagione mi sembra davvero troppo piccolo e se dovessero essere questi i risultati anche nelle prossime stagioni forse deciderò di giocare solo nel Survival Mode (quando sarà riattivato) oppure sceglierò di noleggiare o vendere le mie Wild cards.
E' comunque ancora presto per fare queste valutazioni e ho deciso di fare 3 stagioni di test prima di decidere cosa fare.
Il mio ragionamento cambierebbe in positivo nel caso Splinterlands decidesse di rimuovere i bots dal Wild Format perchè giocare manualmente anche nel Wild Format solo contro giocatori umani sarebbe molto divertente per me e il lato finanziario passerebbe in secondo piano per me.

A proposito di novità, anche se sicuramente non lo è già da tempo, ma evidentemente era una cosa che mi era sfuggita: ma ora i voucher non si possono più vendere e rimangono "intrappolati" in game e quindi inutilizzabili per chi non gioca?
Sì, non puoi più prelevare i VOUCHER e trasferirli su Hive-Engine, ma c'è una apposita pool direttamente sul sito di Splinterlands dove vuoi convertirli in DEC e poi fare il prelievo di quello :)

Resto sempre più meravigliato da quanto siano bassi i guadagnai nel formato Wild... è vero che hai un moltiplicatore inferiore al x4, ma anche raddoppiando e passa i tuoi guadagni il risultato sarebbe comunque sempre deludente, considerato quanto vale la tua collezione e tutti gli SPS di cui avresti bisogno!

For sure, a lot of players (I would say vast majority) is starting to build a modern deck. It's the best time to get in the game! Only have a level 1 akane and can play with reasonable success in gold, given how few cards i have. Starter packs were an awesome idea!

If you're active in a Guild, then survival mode might be really difficult. If not, then survival mode is a great choice, because you get to continue using your old cards and you don't have to pay 2$ every season.

It seems modern has very few players. Let's see if anything changes there or just survival mode stays.
It's crazy the difference in SPS obtained by Wild and Chaos. Although I think I'll keep playing Wild mode for now, mostly because the Medium cap level Modern Ranked summoners are too expensive to rent. Hopefully in the future it will be more accessible
