How to Quickly Find Unused Cards to Sell or Rent Out
There are several game modes on Splinterlands:
- Ranked:
- Frontier Format (free-to-play and for human players only)
- Modern Format (for human players only)
- Wild Format (private bots allowed)
- Survival Mode (private bots allowed)
- Challenge
- Practice
- Campaign
- Guild Brawls (human players only)
- Tournaments (for human players only)
- Land
With so many game modes, not all cards have the same utility: some become essential, others become stuck in the collection
On Splinterlands there are also many cards of different editions and types.
In some game modes/formats you can only use a subset of the cards of Splinterlands.
For example in Modern Format you can only use cards of the Conclave Arcana and Rebellion sets while in Wild Format you can use all cards.
With so many game modes and with so many cards that can be bought and/or rented, it is not always easy to identify cards that are of little use for a player = cards that are not used in battles or are rarely used in battles especially when one has many cards.
In this post I share the method I use to quickly identify cards I don't use or rarely use in the game modes in which I am active.
Finding unused cards is important to me because an unused card is an idle resource: I can either sell it or rent it out..
In the ITEMS->CARD COLLECTION section by clicking on a single card you can see the time that has passed since each card was used.
But clicking on each individual card to see the Last Played information is a very time-consuming operation especially for those who have a very large card collection.
For example, I have 925 unbound cards (my own property), which equals 23017 BCX.
I am an active player
- in the Modern Format
- in the Survival Mode
- in the new Frontier Mode
- in the Brawls
- in the Lands and in the Conflicts
That's why I use a simple method to find out in a few minutes which cards I'm not really using
To quickly identify the cards I'm not using in the game:
- Step 1: I login to Peakmonsters.
- Step 2: I go to the My Cards section
- Step 3: I use the filter Not Used (days) = 7.
- Step 4: This way I get a list of unused cards for a time interval of 7 days or more = possible cards to sell or to rent out
- Step 5: If I want to know the exact number of days a card has been unused I go to the Items->Cards section of Splinterlands and look only for the card in the Peakmonsters list without having to click on all the cards in my collection.
This way I speeded up my search and saved a lot of time!
On Peakmonsters there are many filters that you can combine to make targeted and customised searches.
For example, today I wanted to know the list of my Wild Cards that:
- are owned by me
- I have not used in battles for at least 7 days
- I have not used in my Land plots
- I do not use in the current Conflict (in Mage wagons)
- are not for sale
- are not on the rental market
In the next image you can see the Peakmonsters filters I used for my research.
Thanks to this research I quickly identified some possible cards for sale or rent.
For example my top level VRUZ card was last used in Survival Mode 9 days ago.
Vruz is a card I consider very useful in battle and is also a card I used very frequently in Modern Format when Chaos Legion cards could be used in Modern Format.
Once I have identified an underused card, I assess whether it is worth selling or renting.
I decided not to sell VRUZ because it is a very useful card in Wild Format and Tournaments.
I decided to give VRUZ for rent because I don't play in the Wild Format (the Wild Pass absorbs almost all of my seasonal income) and because I don't play in tournaments (I would like to but I have little free time) and above all because in Survival Mode it is little used by XBOT who plays instead of me in this format.
In fact in the last 30 days XBOT has only used VRUZ once in Survival Mode.
I have made VRUZ available for rent at a price of 6.26 DEC per day and if any player rents my VRUZ I will have turned a card of little use to me into a daily income in DEC that I can use to buy or rent useful cards for me in Modern Format which is my preferred format.

Un Metodo Veloce per Individuare le Carte Inutilizzate da Vendere o da Dare in Noleggio
Su Splinterlands ci sono diverse modalità di gioco:
- Ranked

- Wild Format (sono consentiti i bots privati)
- Survival Mode (sono consentiti i bots privati)

Con così tante modalità, non tutte le carte hanno la stessa utilità: alcune diventano fondamentali, altre finiscono per rimanere ferme nella collezione
Su Splinterlands ci sono anche molte carte di edizioni e di tipologie diverse.
In alcune modalità di gioco/formati è possibile utilizzare solo un sottoinsieme delle carte di Splinterlands.
Ad esempio nel Modern Format è possibile utilizzare solo le carte dei set Conclave Arcana e Rebellion mentre nel Wild Format è possibile utilizzare tutte le carte.
Con tante modalità di gioco e con tante carte acquistabili e/o noleggiabili non è sempre facile individuare le carte poco utili per un giocatore = carte non utilizzate nelle battaglie o utilizzate raramente nelle battaglie soprattutto quando si possiedono molte carte.
In questo post condivido il metodo che uso per individuare velocemente le carte che non utilizzo nelle modalità di gioco in cui sono attivo oppure che utilizzo molto raramente.
Individuare le carte inutilizzate è importante per me perchè una carta inutilizzata è una risorsa ferma: posso venderla o metterla in noleggio.
Nella sezione ITEMS->CARD COLLECTION cliccando su una singola carta è possibile vedere il tempo trascorso dall'utilizzo di ogni carta.
Ma cliccare su ogni singola carta per conoscere l'informazione Last Played è un'operazione molto dispendiosa in termini di tempo soprattutto per chi ha una collezione di carte molto ampia.
Io ad esempio ho 925 carte unbound (di mia proprietà) = 23017 BCX.
Sono un giocatore attivo
- nel Modern Format
- nel Survival Mode
- nel nuovo Frontier Mode
- nelle Brawls
- nelle Land e nei Conflicts
Per individuare in modo veloce le carte che non utilizzo nel gioco:
- Passo 1: Faccio il login su Peakmonsters
- Passo 2: Vado nella sezione My Cards
- Passo 3: Utilizzo il filtro Not Used (days) = 7
- Passo 4: In questo modo ottengo un elenco di carte non utilizzate in gioco per un intervallo di tempo uguale o maggiore a 7 giorni = possibili carte da vendere o da dare in noleggio
- Passo 5: Se voglio conoscere il preciso numero di giorni di inutilizzo di una carta vado nella sezione Items->Cards di Splinterlands e cerco solo la carta presente nell'elenco di Peakmonsters senza dover cliccare su tutte le carte presenti nella mia collezione.
In questo modo ho velocizzato la mia ricerca risparmiando molto tempo!
Su Peakmonsters ci sono tanti filtri che è possibile combinare per fare ricerche mirate e personalizzate.
Ad esempio oggi volevo conoscere la lista delle mie Wild Cards che:
- sono di mia proprietà
- non utilizzo nelle battaglie da almeno 7 giorni
- non utilizzo nei miei Land plots
- non utilizzo nel Conflict in corso (nei Mage wagons)
- non sono in vendita
- non sono nel mercato del noleggio
Nella prossima immagine puoi vedere i filtri di Peakmonsters che ho utilizzato per la mia ricerca.
Grazie a questa ricerca ho individuato velocemente alcune possibili carte da vendere o da noleggiare.
Ad esempio la mia carta VRUZ di massimo livello è stata utilizzata l'ultima volta nel Survival Mode 9 giorni fa.
Vruz è una carta che considero molto utile in battaglia ed è anche una carta che utilizzavo con una frequenza altissima nel Modern Format quando potevano essere usate le carte Chaos Legion nel Modern Format.
Una volta individuata una carta poco utilizzata, valuto se conviene venderla o metterla a noleggio.
Ho deciso di non vendere VRUZ perchè è una carta molto utile nel Wild Format e nei Tournaments.
Ho deciso di dare VRUZ in noleggio perchè io non gioco nel Wild Format (il Wild Pass assorbe quasi tutto il mio guadagno stagionale) e perchè non gioco nei tornei (mi piacerebbe ma ho poco tempo libero) e soprattutto perchè nel Survival Mode è poco utilizzata da XBOT che gioca al posto mio in questo formato.
Infatti negli ultimi 30 giorni XBOT ha utilizzato VRUZ solo una volta nel Survival Mode.
Ho messo VRUZ disponibile per il noleggio ad un prezzo di 6.26 DEC al giorno e se qualche giocatore prenderà in noleggio il mio VRUZ avrò trasformato una carta poco utile per me in un'entrata giornaliera in DEC che potrò utilizzare per acquistare o per noleggiare carte utili per me nel Modern Format che è il mio formato preferito.

It's always a tough choice for me. I have a lot of 1 BCX/CC Chaos Legion cards that I don't think will sell unless I combine them. So I'm waiting to possibly burn them for Cinder or burn them for DEC.
Noleggiare le carte meno usate per prenderne altre a noleggio più utili in battaglia è una delle cose più divertenti e soddisfacenti di Splinterlands: in questo modo anche le carte meno utili rimangono... utili! (purchè abbiano un minimo di mercato ovviamente !LOL )

That sounds so complex to me Haha. They could just add that if you spend a few weeks without using the card it becomes a bit opaque when you select it, I don't think it would be difficult to add that to a web-based game.

I think PeakMonsters is great for renting cards. I remember using it quite a bit when I was still renting out cards, but maybe I should go see what to put up for rent. I am not doing survival or wild so there are quite a few cards that I am not using.

I overlook my playing account as a source of rental income as I send all cards to rent to a sperate account (Slibh).
So, it is very possible that I have cards in my playing deck...because they are in Modern or I initially bought them for Wild Brawls, that I actually don't use...so dead weight, I don't want to perma move the to rental or to sell them, but I think I'll see if there are any candidates to rent out from my main account to offset my Brawl rentals, which, since season rentals became a thing, have become a daily 350 DEC expense on my playing account

Yes unused cards can be useful to reduce the cost of renting useful cards in battle, I am doing so
I didn't know about those tips. I have not entered @splinterlands, I think it's time to go back and put into practice these aspects that you mention

If you want to try out the game, I recommend starting in Campaign mode and then trying the game in Frontier mode because this way you do not have to invest anything because these two game modes are free to play
