The estimated value of the card packs and a practical case of purchase
On May 13, 2025 the Conclave Arcana General Sale began and today, May 26, 2025, 13 days have passed.
Splinterlands is my favorite blockchain-based game and I am very interested in the cards of the Conclave Arcana set because my favorite game mode on Splinterlands is the Modern Format of Ranked Play in which only cards of two sets including the Arcana Conclave cards can be used.
I also play in the Wild Format but the Modern Format is the only really fun format for me because only human players can play in this format and because automations such as bots and battle helpers are not allowed.
With the start of the General Sale, cards of the Chaos Legion set can no longer be used in the Modern Format.
When it was possible to use Chaos Legion cards in the Modern Format I used to play stably in the Diamond I league and sometimes even was able to advance to the Champion III league.
Now I can play stably in the Diamond III league but I have little chance of advancing in the next leagues because even though I have 240 cards of the Arcana Conclave set their level is still too low to allow me to be as competitive in Modern Format as I was before May 13.
To increase my battle strength in Modern Format I will purchase cards and/or packs of cards of the Conclave Arcana set.
I will evaluate individual cards to purchase based on each card's game stats.
In choosing whether or not to purchase a pack of Conclave Arcana cards I will always consider two elements:
- cost of purchase of 1 pack of cards.
- estimated value of 1 pack of cards.
If the estimated value of a card pack is greater than the purchase cost I may consider buying it otherwise I will opt to purchase individual cards from the market.
In this post I share this information (cost per pack by purchase option and estimated value) which is very useful for me and I hope it can be useful also for my readers who are interested in purchasing cards and/or packs of the new Conclave Arcana set.
During the General Sale it is possible to purchase 4 types of card packs of the Conclave Arcana set.
In the Shop Section of Splinterlands you can purchase 4 types of packs using Credits or DEC and these are the costs:
- Starter Packs: cost of 1000 DEC or 1000 Credits per pack
- Standard Packs: cost of 4000 DEC or 4000 Credits per pack
- Alchemy Packs: cost of 12000 DEC or 12000 Credits per pack
- Legendary Packs: cost of 24000 DEC or 24000 Credits per pack.

Today, 13 days after the start of the General Sale, I have made this calculation again, and compared to my previous two posts, I am also adding information about the estimated value of each pack of purchasable cards thanks to the very useful Pack Stats section of Peakmonsters.
Cost per Pack Calculation Based on Buying Options and Estimate Value
The Conclave Arcana Starter packs can be purchased in the Splinterlands Shop using Credits or DEC as the payment method.
The other Conclave Arcana packs (Standard, Alchemy and Legendary) can be purchased using 3 different purchase options:
- using Credits in the Splinterlands Shop
- using DECs in the Splinterlands Shop
- using SWAP.HIVE on Hive Engine.
Based on the market value of the HIVE (SWAP.HIVE) tokens and based on the market value of the DEC tokens I calculated the cost per pack in dollars for each type of pack that could be purchased during the general sale based on the possible purchase options.
To purchase 1 STARTER pack in the Splinterlands shop you must spend 1000 Credits or 1000 DEC
The lowest cost per pack is $0.99 obtainable by using DEC in the Splinterlands Shop.
Based on the estimated value of 1 starter pack calculated by Peakmonsters ($1,081) the estimated profit is +9.22%
To purchase 1 STANDARD pack in the Splinterlands shop you must spend 4000 Credits or 4000 DEC
To buy 1 Standard pack on Hive Engine you have to buy the ARCANA token which has a cost = 14.97 SWAP.HIVE (27 ARCANA tokens for sale at this price)
The lowest cost per pack is $3.84 obtainable by using SWAP.HIVE tokens on Hive Engine.
Based on the estimated value calculated by Peakmonsters buying 1 standard pack produces these results:
- without using potions -> estimated loss: -38.70%
- using legendary potions -> estimated loss: -30.84%
- using alchemical potions -> estimated loss: -33.95%
- using the midnight potions -> estimated loss: -31.97%
- using the three potions together -> estimated loss: -19.19%
At this time it does not seem the best choice to purchase Standard packs.
To buy 1 Alchemy pack in the shop of Splinterlands you must spend 12000 Credits or 12000 DEC
Today, May 26, 2025, it is not possible to buy 1 Alchemy pack on Hive Engine because there are no ARCANAA tokens for sale and there are only purchase offers.
The lowest cost per pack is $11.88 obtainable by using DEC tokens in the Splinterlands Shop.
Based on the estimated value calculated by Peakmonsters buying 1 Alchemy pack produces these results:
- without using potions -> estimated loss: -27.09%
- using legendary potions -> estimated loss: -7.28%
- using the midnight potions -> estimated profit: +1.41%
- using the two potions together -> estimated profit: +25.78%
Right now if you have an Alchemy pack or want to purchase it it is definitely better to use legendary potions and midnight potions in the opening phase ;)
To buy 1 Legendary pack in the Splinterlands shop you have to spend 24000 Credits or 24000 DEC
To purchase 1 Legendary pack on Hive Engine you have to purchase the ARCANAL token but at this time there are no ARCANAL tokens for sale but only purchase offers.
The lowest cost per pack is $23.76 obtainable using DEC in the shop at Splinterlands.
Based on the estimated value calculated by Peakmonsters buying 1 Legendary pack produces these results:
- without using potions -> estimated loss: -28.86%
- using alchemical potions -> estimated loss: -21.65%
- using the midnight potions -> estimated loss: -10.35%
- using the two potions together -> estimated loss: -3.38%
The same reasoning applies to Legendary packs as I did to Standard packs, so it does not seem to be a good time to buy them.
Final thoughts
During the General Sale the cost per pack is one element to consider before buying a pack of cards but it is not the only important element because calculating the estimated value of a pack of cards is also very important.
Based on the calculations I have shown you in this post, the best purchase options are:
- buy the Alchemy packs and use the legendary and midnight options to open them -> estimated profit: + 25.78%
- buy the Starter packs -> estimated profit: + 9.22%
To see the estimated value of 1 pack of cards you can use the useful Pack Stats section on Peakmonsters
But always keep in mind that the estimated value of 1 pack of cards is not a certain value but becomes an increasingly accurate value as more packs are purchased and generally by purchasing at least 500+ packs of cards.
In opening a single pack of cards, luck does and always will play an important role although the estimated value of 1 pack of cards is always useful information to consider.
The purpose of this post is to give useful evaluation elements to those who have decided to participate in the Conclave Arcana general sale.
It is now up to you to make your own personal evaluations and choose whether to participate and in what way to participate in the general sale.
From theory to practice: I purchased and opened 1 Alchemy pack
In this post, I calculated the cost of buying a card pack based on the options that can be used and showed you the estimated value of the card packs calculated by Peakmonsters.
When I write this kind of post I like to move from theory to practice and for that reason today I purchased 1 Alchemy pack from the Splinterlands Shop.
Before opening it I purchased 5 Midnigth potions for which I spent 154.94 DEC = $0.15.
I did not purchase legendary potions because I have 308 legendary potions available.
In the Open section of Splinterlands, I activated the legendary potions and midnight potions and opened the Alchemy pack.
I was unlucky because the estimated value of the pack I opened today was $15.34 but I'm glad I showed you how luck greatly affects the opening of very small amounts of card packs and the estimated value tends to approach the real market value of the cards found inside the packs only in the case of opening many card packs...

Il 13 maggio 2025 è iniziata la Conclave Arcana General Sale e oggi, 26 maggio 2025, sono passati 13 giorni.
Splinterlands è il mio gioco basato su blockchain preferito e sono molto interessato alle carte del set Conclave Arcana perchè la mia modalità di gioco preferita su Splinterlands è il Modern Format del Ranked Play nel quale possono essere utilizzate esclusivamente le carte di due set tra cui le carte Conclave Arcana.
Gioco anche nel Wild Format ma il Modern Format è l'unico formato veramente divertente per me perchè in questo formato possono giocare solo i giocatori umani e perchè non è permesso usare automazioni come bots e battle helpers.
Con l'inizio della General Sale le carte del set Chaos Legion non possono più essere utilizzate nel Modern Format.
Quando era possibile utilizzare le carte Chaos Legion nel Modern Format giocavo stabilmente nella lega Diamond I e qualche volta riuscivo anche ad avanzare nella lega Champion III.
Adesso riesco a giocare stabilmente nella lega Diamond III ma ho poche possibilità di avanzare nelle leghe successive perchè, anche se ho 240 carte del set Conclave Arcana il loro livello è ancora troppo basso per permettermi di essere competitivo nel Modern Format come lo ero prima del 13 maggio.
Per aumentare la mia forza in battaglia nel Modern Format acquisterò carte e/o pacchi di carte del set Conclave Arcana.
Valuterò le singole carte da acquistare in base alle statistiche di gioco di ogni carta.
Per scegliere se acquistare oppure no un pacco di carte Conclave Arcana considererò sempre due elementi:
- costo di acquisto di 1 pacco di carte
- valore stimato di 1 pacco di carte
Se il valore stimato di un pacco di carte è maggiore del costo di acquisto posso considerare il suo acquisto altrimenti opterò per l'acquisto di carte singole dal mercato.
In questo post condivido queste informazioni (costo per pacco in base all'opzione di acquisto e valore stimato) che sono molto utili per me e spero che possano esserlo anche per i miei lettori che sono interessati all'acquisto di carte e/o pacchi del nuovo set Conclave Arcana.
Durante la General Sale è possibile acquistare 4 tipologie di pacchi di carte del set Conclave Arcana.

Calcolo del Costo per pacco in base alle opzioni di acquisto
I Conclave Arcana Starter packs possono essere acquistati solo nello Shop di Splinterlands utilizzando i Credits o i DEC come metodo di pagamento.
Gli altri Conclave Arcana packs (Standard, Alchemy e Legendary) possono essere acquistati utilizzando 3 opzioni di acquisto differenti:
- utilizzando i Credits nello Splinterlands Shop
- utilizzando i DEC nello Splinterlands Shop
- utilizzando gli SWAP.HIVE su Hive Engine
In base al valore di mercato dei token HIVE (SWAP.HIVE) e in base al valore di mercato dei token DEC ho calcolato il costo per pacco in dollari per ogni tipologia di pacco acquistabile durante la general sale in base alle opzione di acquisto possibili.

Per i Legendary packs vale lo stesso ragionamento che ho fatto per gli Standard packs e quindi non sembra essere un buon momento per acquistarli.
Considerazioni finali
Durante la General Sale il costo per pacco è un elemento da considerare prima di acquistare un pacco di carte ma non è l'unico elemento importante perchè anche il calcolo del valore stimato di un pacco di carte è molto importante.
In base ai calcoli che ti ho mostrato in questo post le migliori opzioni di acquisto sono:
- acquistare gli Alchemy packs e utilizzare le pozioni leggendarie e midnight per aprirli -> profitto stimato: + 25.78%
- acquistare gli Starter packs -> profitto stimato: + 9.22%
Per vedere il valore stimato di 1 pacco di carte puoi utilizzare l'utile sezione Pack Stats su Peakmonsters
Ma tieni sempre presente che il valore stimato di 1 pacco di carte non è un valore certo ma diventa un valore sempre più attendibile con l'aumentare dei pacchi acquistati e in genere acquistando almeno 500+ pacchi di carte.
Nell'apertura di un singolo pacco di carte la fortuna gioca e giocherà sempre un ruolo importante anche se il valore stimato di 1 pacco di carte è sempre un informazione utile da considerare.
L'obiettivo di questo post è di dare elementi di valutazione utili a chi ha deciso di partecipare alla Conclave Arcana General Sale.
Adesso sta a te fare le tue personali valutazioni e scegliere se partecipare e in che modo partecipare alla general sale.
Dalla teoria alla pratica: ho acquistato e aperto 1 pacco Alchemy
In questo post ho calcolato il costo di acquisto di un paccho di carte in base alle opzioni utilizzabili e ti ho mostrato il valore stimato dei pacchi di carte calcolato da Peakmonsters.
Quando scrivo questo tipo di post mi piace passare dalla teoria alla pratica e per questo motivo oggi ho acquistato 1 Alchemy pack dallo Shop di Splinterlands.
Prima di aprirlo ho acquistato 5 Midnigth potions per le quali ho speso 154.94 DEC = 0.15$.
Non ho acquistato pozioni leggendarie perchè ho 308 legendary potions disponibili.
Nella sezione Open di Splinterlands ho attivato le pozioni leggendarie e le pozioni midnight e ho aperto il pacco Alchemy.
Nella prossima immagine puoi vedere le carte che ho trovato.
Ho speso in totale 12154.94 DEC = 12.03$ ma ho trovato 5 carte del valore totale di 2.264$.
Sono stato sfortunato perchè il valore stimato del pacco che ho aperto oggi era di 15.34$ ma sono contento di averti mostrato come la fortuna incide molto nell'apertura di piccolissime quantità di pacchi di carte e il valore stimato tende ad avvicinarsi al valore di mercato reale delle carte trovate all'interno dei pacchi solo nel caso dell'apertura di molti pacchi di carte...

If you buy many packs and use potions the alchemy has the highest estimated value but if you buy few packs the luck will weigh much more than the estimated value ;)

Grazie della dimostrazione pratica, che mi ha convinto a non rischiare di buttare via tutto il DEC che ho da parte (e qualcosa in più) provando ad acquistare 1 solo Alchemy pack 😅 sono invece tentato dagli starter pack, perchè mi piacerebbe cominciare ad aggiungere qualche carta CA alla mia collezione e quelli sembrano fra le opzioni migliori... devo capire se voglio fare così, o acquistare carte singole dal mercato!

It's interesting to see how opening packs can still be profitable. The starter and alchemy packs seems to be great, but the other packs not so much. I guess the black foils are keeping up the prices on alchemy packs.
Yes opening starter packs and alchemy is profitable but only if you reason on large numbers, with few packs you can be very lucky but also unlucky as happened to me in opening 1 single pack.
The next packs I will open will be starter packs because they cost less and I can buy more ;)

I see you spent 0.15 to buy the midnight potions. I've used these potions in the past and they don't seem to increase my of better pack opening..

Hi my friend :)
Midnight potions increase the probability of finding black foil from 0.125% to 0.250% for the alchemy packs. This means that on average it will have effect on 1 card in every 400 cards instead of 1 card in every 800 cards and so on average for every 80 packs purchased and opened (instead of 160) you should find a black foil but on small amounts of packs using it or not makes little difference ;)
In my opinion the midnight potion has a low cost in relation to the cost of alchemy packs and for that reason only for alchemy packs it is worth using it even though 0.250% is a small probability
