Splinterlands Art Contest | MInotaur Warrior

I've been drawing lots of horns in my sketchbook lately and I thought painting one would make so much sense. This particular drawing was inspired by this splinterlands character, The MInotaur Warrior. Putting down my ideas for this contest whenever it comes to mind has made it easy for me, I just choose any from my sketchbook to paint digitally when I have the time.
It's another round of the Splinterlands Art Contest and this is my submission.

The Minotaurs are very tough and rugged people that fight with long spears. They are the only people brave enough to live in the Giant Grasslands of Primordia, where the Dinosaurs roam. They live in wandering tribes, sleeping in hide tents while hunting Rexxies for their meat, clothing and weapons.

Phase 1 - The base
Since I already had an idea, I went straight to painting base colours for her hair, clothes, skin, horn and also added facial features. I don't really like the eye colour but I wanted it to look a little bit like the original character.

Phase 2 - Rendering
This is where the whole work comes to life, the highlights and shadows are added in necessary areas. I really love how the horn turned out even though it looked a lot different from the original one. I really love the rings attached to the horns, I didn't see them initially but I'm glad I painted them, they gave the horn a different look. I then began to paint more strands on her hair before moving on to her clothes, I didn't do too much there.

This is the finished work after making some adjustments, I painting light strokes of blue on the background and that was all...
