Ragnarok Art is Lookin Hot - Much Excite
Ragnarok is coming. Hopefully soon. Ragnarok is an NFT trading card game coming to Hive that is taking a very unique approach. Reading the Game Design Document, all 4000 words of it, made me even more excited. I've already written about how cool I think this game is going to be so I won't bore you with that again.
Ragnarok Game
You can check the full Ragnarok Game Design Document here and I highly recommend that you do. It took me reading it a couple times to really digest it. The gameplay sounds wild to me. It's chess with PvP combat. I've honestly never heard of such a unique style of gameplay and I cannot wait to give it a go. The only problem I'll run into is that I suck at chess. I do love strategy and card games though so maybe that'll be worth something. It'll be like a chopped in half chess board with 5 pawns, a king, a queen, a bishop, a knight, and a rook. The NFT cards will have chess pieces on them letting you know which position they play. Your pawns are your demi-gods and your backline is Gods or Titans. Your Queen is a legendary God or Titan. Your king is your strongest unit with 35 spells. I'm not going to fully dive into trying to explain the gameplay but this is enough information you to get the general layout.
Overall I think the gameplay is going to be interesting. I feel the time per battle could be similar to that of Gods Unchained. 5-20 minutes depending on how fast someone reks you. It's chess and each time a piece encounters another, there's a pvp battle. Sounds like it could get lengthy, which is fine as long as it's fun. The Game Design Document goes into heavy detail on how it will all work, so all we need at this point is gameplay video.
The Cards
The first card image below is from the Ragnarok Art Reveal post. I get heavy Gods Unchained vibes from the card border here. I fuckin love it, It's very intricate. Very detailed. Much wow. Clearly the card is not one of the actual cards, it is just an example of one of the designs. It also gives us a glimpse into the setup of class, abilities, and elements.
I can't get over the level of detail in the card border. Not only does it look really cool bit the level of attention to details is just incredible. Looks like we will get a taste of spell cards next. The snapshot for the NFT airdrop is coming up on January 6th so keep stacking up that HIVE to maximize your airdrop. This will get you a good start because the amount of NFTs airdropped to you depends on your HIVE holdings.
