Instagram Actively Exploring NFTs
howdy frens
I hope you're doing well today. It's rainy and cold where I'm at so it's gunna be a watch shitty horror movies kinda day. If you're ever looking for a really shitty horror movie, go check out basically any Hulu original horror movie lol. My wife and I like to try to find the worst ones. It's something we both greatly enjoy. Anyway - let's talk NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens). I know, I know, I talk about NFTs a lot. If you don't enjoy my content, I invite you to unfollow me. It's all love.

Instagram NFTs
It has been officially stated that Instragram is actively exploring NFTs by their CEO Adam Mosseri. This comes after Facebook rebranded itself as Meta. It only makes sense that other Meta companies are going to be exploring NFTs. The next things that wouldn't surprise me is Oculus and WhatApps gaining NFT support, but we're here to look at Instagram.
Nothing to announce yet, but we are definitely actively exploring NFTs and how we can make them more accessible to a wider audience," Mosseri said in an Instagram story posted Saturday
Nothing to announce yet? This is literally the announcement. Our boy Adam is just saying "Instagram exploring NFTs, probably nothing..." If you don't know, probably nothing is kind of a meme in the NFT space, usually stated ironically. He knows the lingo already. Maybe I need to do a whole post on NFT lingo because it gets a little weird sometimes. So we recently saw Twitter demonstrating its very own integration that allows users to connect their Ethereum wallet and use their NFTs as profile pictures. This has yet to hit the public, but when it does, it's going to be quite the huge announcement.
We don't know exactly what it's going to look like when Instragram figures out what it wants to do. What I imagine is - verified NFT profile pics of course. Everyone loves those generative profile pic NFTs. Another thing Instagram could do is allow users to share the NFTs in their connected wallet - just like you can share a picture. The difference would be that you could see that it's a verified NFT that the user owns and links directly back to the NFT on the blockchain. You know how you can buy shit straight off Instagram ads? Well get ready for NFT drops right in the Instagram app. This is what I'm picturing, at least. It could be something totally different.
Will Meta dominate the "metaverse"? Simply put, no. There's going to be so many different "metaverses" that are created by different projects. Once people realize that this Meta "metaverse" is literally stealing their data and selling it, they will come. I'm not saying their version won't be huge or successful, but I don't think it's going to kill other projects. I think it will only drive more people to the crypto side of things in the long run.
NFTs are going to be put in the hands of billions of people that have never even touched crypto. I know I keep saying it, and I'm going to keep on saying it every day. We're here at the ground floor. NFTs and crypto are going to be a part of 90% of people's lives in just a few short years. We're here to watch it happen.
WAGMI (we're all gunna make it)
