Why you should take a break from being productive
There's a big difference between being productive and being busy. Being productive means you're doing something that helps you achieve your goals. Being busy means you're constantly moving from one thing to another, with little time for reflection or relaxation. But it's important to remember that if you want to be successful in everything you do, you need to give your body and mind some time to rest.
It's easy to get stuck in a cycle of doing the same thing over and over again. We're all human, after all, and we can get so caught up in our daily routines that we forget what it feels like to be truly present. But think about this: when was the last time you left your house without an agenda? When was the last time you didn't have something on your mind? When was the last time you just relaxed?
It's hard to imagine how we managed without the internet. We can now take a nap while working and then check our phone when we wake up, get the latest news from online newspapers (or even Twitter!), and have a conversation with friends all at the same time. And we don't even have to leave our homes! But this convenience comes at a price: we're not getting much sleep, our brains are being pumped full of information (and it's not always good), and our productivity is suffering as a result.
While some people might think that taking a break from being productive is just another way to waste time and feel unproductive, there are actually several benefits to taking breaks from your normal routine and focusing on something else for a bit especially if you're trying to be more productive in the long run.
If you spend all day working, then it's likely that at some point, your brain will start to shut down and your body will start to shut down as well. This is called "burnout." Burnout happens when you're constantly doing something that makes your body tired, like working too much or exercising too much and then not taking time for yourself.
Taking a break helps you recharge your batteries: taking regular breaks throughout the day helps you stay focused and alert so that you can work efficiently throughout your day. The more energy you have at work, the more focused you will be on completing tasks during those moments when things aren't going smoothly or as quickly as usual, which means fewer distractions will affect your work overall.
The best part is that there are tons of ways to take breaks from being productive. Here are some ideas:
Take a walk outside. Get some fresh air in your lungs by walking around for a few minutes before getting back into work mode again.
Try meditation. It's been proven that meditation can help improve focus, creativity, and even happiness levels
Read your favorite book, watch a movie or video on YouTube, play with your pet, whatever makes you feel energized and refreshed.
Sometimes our brains are so full of things we need to do that we forget to stop and relax a little bit. But if you give yourself some time away from those tasks, it will actually help you get better at them. So if you have been feeling like you're not getting much done lately, try taking one or two hours off in the middle of your day to just relax. It will make your whole week feel better!

This is actually very true and it really works for me! Especially when I'm studying.
Sometimes when I try to master some difficult topics and my head feels blank, I'd take some time away. And when I eventually return to them, everything just works out fine.
Really nice article 👍
Exactly bro, it's what I have experienced so many times especially when it comes to programming. Instead of trying to solve a problem for several hours, I just take a break from it by playing a video games or watching YouTube,
. Once I get back to the problem, it becomes easier to crack. Thanks for reading
Thanks so much for this piece
You just gave me a recess routine I can adopt for myself.
You're welcome 😊 and thanks for reading
We aren't robots .. And break is what we need..or else, we'd burnt out that would impede from doing more tasks..
I have experiencing burn outs lately and I know it's because I have been overworking myself and ignoring the need for a break
You know what to do then 😊
