A lesson I learned this year
2022 is coming to an end in less than a week and I'm very glad to see the end. This year was very difficult for a lot of us because of the drastic changes that occurred, especially in the cryptoverse. I started this year with a lot of hopes and goals but somewhere along the way, a lot of things happened that shook my resolve and made me come up with defensive strategies.
What did I learn?
This year taught me to always follow my instincts. I made a lot of mistakes that could have been easily avoided if I listened to my instincts instead of allowing my greed to get the better of me. Earlier this year, I came up with a goal of buying a new laptop that will aid me in my programming journey and I planned on getting one with my earnings from blogging.
I wasn't exactly active on hive because I was much busy on another platform: readcash. I saved up a lot of cryptocurrency (Bitcoincash) and I estimated that I needed one more month before I can have enough to buy a laptop but then it happened; the great cryptocurrency depression.
It started small and my instincts immediately told me to convert my coins to a stable coin like USDT but I didn't listen because I was thinking the price will go up and I will be able to make a lot of profit but things only got worse. My instincts kept alerting me to sell but I kept hodling and telling myself that it was too late to sell because I will run into a lot of loss but guess what? I still ended up selling everything at an outrageously low price!
Luckily for me, I decided to come back to hive and use my earnings from here to supplement what I have for a new laptop and I got to say that it was the best decision I made this year. Hive made it possible for me to buy a new laptop, even though it happened 3 months later than I planned but it's better to be late than never.
Hive based dollar is a lot more stable than Bitcoincash and saving with it didn't give me much stress (I should probably say high blood pressure). I realized that things would have gone a lot easier if I listened to my instincts instead of trying to overthink things and ended up losing a lot of opportunities. Some of my friends quickly saw the danger from February and sold off a huge percentage of their portfolios but I kept ignoring the signs.
In a way, that made me more hardworking as I was active in two blogging platforms in addition to doing programming. I passed through a lot of stress and I got sick a couple of times but I became stronger due to all that. I had a lot of regrets when I saw the way things got worse but I shook them off and moved on after realizing that hive has given me a new beginning.
I lost a lot this year but who says I can't get back everything and even more with hive? Life is the only teacher that teaches you a lesson after giving you a test, and I can definitely say that I have learned my lessons and will try to follow my instincts. It was a very tough year but if there's one thing I have learned from it is that tough times create tougher people; 2022 made me stronger.

Heheheh, though no one wants to make mistakes but i think without mistakes there can never be accuracy. I Know it hurts so much that you kicked your instincts away and it turned out to be bad, some days are like that, atleast you got to discover something new about your instincts.
I am just so glad that you didn't allow all the looses you got this year to depress you.. like you said tough times create tough people, i know you are going to get back to your feet and you will do far better than you did earlier before that predicament.
It's now that I got to understand why people easily get into depression, it's truly not easy to pass through tough times and still have your sanity intact but I'm glad I conquered all that. Thanks for stopping by
It is not easy o, not everyone has the heart to condone something like that. You are a strong man
Hey mate 👋 If that makes you feel any better, I was aiming for 144BCH by the end of 2022 and I’m ending it at -22BCH 😂😂😂

It sounds like 2022 has been a difficult year for you, with many ups and downs in the crypto market and personal challenges. However, it's great to hear that you were able to turn things around and find success through hard work and determination. It's also important to learn from your mistakes and take the lessons you've learned with you moving forward. It's not easy, but it's always possible to come back from setbacks and come out even stronger. Wishing you the best in your future endeavors!
Life is full of mistakes and the best way to avoid making the same mistakes again is to learn from them. I wish you the best in your future endeavors as well
That's mate!
Same.. I lost a lot . as in, a lot.. And I guess you know that hehe. Let's hope for better days this coming year. For all of us.
Those of you that have massive portfolios are the ones that accumulated huge losses, that's why I'm not much bothered about mine coz I know it's negligible when compared to yours.
Omo! You just reminded me of my BCH ordeal. This yeah was so funny in the Cryptoverse.
I remember when I was explaining to my boss on how I sold off everything on a cheap price, all he said was "but thank God you used the money to do something reasonable" and that always calm my nerves down
Exactly o, at least I used the money to buy a laptop and didn't end up wasting it, that's what consoles me anytime I think of the whole thing
That's me too. At all at all, na im bad pass
Following one's instincts will never disappoints at all. We just need to be alert and careful to know if what we are doing is right or wrong.
Crypto went down so much that no one saw it coming but here we are. I can say hive has been a blessing to me too especially because of Hbd which is a stable coin.
This year has taught many of us great lessons that has made us stronger.
I'm just glad that we all survived the challenges that this year brought, it wasn't easy but we adapted to the changes. I just hope the coming year will be more favourable
One thing I have also come to believe in is the initial gut feeling. That first thought in your head before the doubts comes in and you try to convince yourself not to do it. Its usually the best to follow. You did well indeed.
Thank you for sharing this with us.
Exactly, that first is usually more accurate but as soon as doubt sets in, I end up doing something else. Thanks for reading
