Countering Cripple with Immunity

Hello again, my coffee loving friends. Cripple is a very interesting ability. If you play like normal, it doesn't look helpful. It does reduce your max health but doesn't really affect your current health. If your unit got 5 damage and its health went from 10 to 5, even after applying Cripple, your health is still 5. So, what is the real use of this ability?
Healing in Splinterlands is based on the target unit's max health. For Heal, Triage and Tank Heal, it's 1/3 of max health. So, when your unit has 9 max health, it gets healed by 3. When it gets crippled 3 times, its max health goes from 9 to 6, which then decreases the healing from 3 to 2.
If your build usually focuses on healing, you may want to avoid reducing your tank's max health. In this battle, I will show you two ways to do this so you can finally get a huge advantage in difficult rule set like Tis But Scratches.
RULE SETS

---|---|
![]() | Tis But Scratches: All Units have the Cripple ability. |
![]() | Fire & Regret: All units receive the Return Fire ability at the start of the battle. Enemy units that attack with ranged attacks receive damage back. |
![]() | Super Sneak: All Melee attack Units have the Sneak ability. |

STRATEGY
Since the effect of having Camouflage on all of my units is that the enemy cannot target anyone for attack except the one in the front, it creates a fake Taunt unit for whoever the one is in the front. At the start, it's Dragon Spirit, next, the only unit that can be attacked is Rage, and so on. This strategy protects my units from Super Sneak rule set. The Immunity also counters the Cripple effects since they cannot apply it to my Dragon Spirt and Almo Cambio even if they get hit by the enemy attacks.
CARD POSITIONING
In this battle, I used the summoner, Lily Shieldpaw and units, Dragon Spirit, Rage, Almo Cambio, Black Dragon, Oshuur Constantia and Goblin Psychic .
Quick Stats
Level 4: Legendary Summoner. Allows level 1 common, level 1 rare, level 1 epic and level 1 legendary. ![]() ![]() |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Flying - Immunity - Redemption - Return Fire - Cripple - Camouflage |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Flying - Void - Weapons Training - Return Fire - Cripple - Camouflage |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Immunity - Phase - Return Fire - Magic Reflect - Cripple - Camouflage |
1. Level 6: High speed unit with Immunity. Since he doesn't have any attack, he is also a good unit for Rage's Weapons Training. | 2. Level 2: Not only he gives magic attacks to my monsters but also has Void ability to reduce any magic attacks he may get. | 3. Level 4: Unit that costs a decent mana for how much stats he gets. His 16 base health at max health is nothing to sneeze at especially when Rage gives him 3 magic attack through Weapons Training. |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Flying - Life Leech - Slow - Strengthen - Return Fire - Camouflage - Cripple |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Resurrect - Reflection Shield - Tank Heal - Return Fire - Cripple - Camouflage |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Tank Heal - Affliction - Silence - Dispel - Return Fire - Camouflage - Cripple |
4. Level 4: He counters Cripple effectively by stacking health through the use of Life Leech. | 5. Level 3: His Tank Heal and Resurrect are good abilities to delay the deaths of my tanks. | 6. Level 10: Same with Oshuur Constantia but with an extra Silence to mess against my enemy's magic attacks. |

Nice strategy! Lily Shieldpaw works well against explosion ruleset as well, or Yodin, since the fire is concentrated on the first line, and the second line gets healed (if it doesn't have reflection shield).
Yeah, whoever your first unit, they always gets like a mock Taunt so you can use it to your advantage. Took me quite a while before I understood what happens when everyone has Camouflage.
It doesn't work on Scattershot or Aimless though, because random target also means they aren't targeting anyone.
