Three Battles in Frontier

Since I've had my fun in doing Modern Ranked Format battles, time to chill around and go back to gathering cards in Frontier Mode. I want to increase the level of my cards and get some glory along the way and, oh boy, I am very surprised at the result. In just a few days, I were able to get from Bronze 2 to now almost Silver 1. I don't have maxed out Frontier cards yet but I do have some new tricks on my sleeve.

I would say that the Frontier Mode is a good mode to practice your strategies and double check what works and what is not. The cards aren't as complicated as normal ones and due to the high mana cost of the cards, you can only put down a few in each battle. I would go as far as to say that this is a good practice zone for beginners. Not only you get to learn the game but also get a few cards to get you started for when you play with the big boys in Modern Ranked Format.

When I saw this battle, it felt like the opponent just used this units to show off his Black Foiled Dread Tafarian. I will be honest, I felt a little jealous and it does look cool. In terms of how it fare in the battle though, since the opponent's archon is just level 1, then the Black Foiled Dread Tafarian were not able to release his full potential as a max leveled monster.

On the other hand, while I do have level 1 monsters only, they are powerful especially with Marlai Singariel commanding my troop. Magic damage is increased by 1 making Saltwater Mage and Mystic Scaleweaver both have 3 magic attacks. I have superior damage while they have superior health. In this battle, the more damage usually wins as they won't be able to bring down my monsters with just 1 damage until 20+ rounds.

I chose this one because this is a very fair battle. Actually, if you look at it closer, I am more on on the disadvantage. Both Archons are level 2 but a clear difference in the monsters on the board. Opponent's Nim Guard Captain is level 3 which means they have 1 more armor and health than mine. They also have higher leveled Sorrow Harvester and Black Widow with more stats. If you look at stats alone, I am at a disadvantage but I sure win in wits.

With Vengeful Monk and Moros Malik both having Opportunity, The main targets would be the lowest health, Sorrow Harvester, and if I kill this key unit, I win the game. Eventually, I did so which proves that while stats are important, strategy still reigns supreme.

This last battle is the full might of my team and what I usually use to win most battes. Except for Spellmonger which is replaced by Great Bear Druid, it is the same lineup.

I have Marlai Singariel as the main archon with three magic damage monsters at the back while the rest of the frontline works as my tank. The most important monster is Saltwater Mage. With a mix attack of front and back, the opponents need to have protection in both sides and if one falters, the rest follows

Rewards

This week is also pretty nice to me netting me a lot of gold cards. Besides a 1 Gold Barthalamas, 1 Gold New Beluroc Aegis, and 1 Gold Grand Consul Minion, the rest of the gold cards above are all just for this week. That's not to say the multiple non-foil cards I got as well through ranked up and daily rewards. I will slack off in Frontier Mode in a few weeks but will still go play around in Modern Ranked Format every few matches. This is to get some of the key cards I wanted when playing Modern Ranked Format and strenghten my team.
