Intro Banner 2024

The Inaugural Land Card Edition brings a new layer to the game and it feels like the start of something big. It adds new workers, new resources and a new way to grow your land.

This update may look small at first but it sets the tone for how Land will work moving forward. Players can now craft cards, discover treasures and build stronger plots with more control. More things to do with Land means more income potential now and in the future

The Birth of Land Cards

The first Land Card Edition is important because it sets the base for all Land expansions in the future. It gives players a preview of how crafting, abilities and resource sinks will shape the long-term gameplay. Even if the supply is small, the impact will be huge as the system grows.

This edition also shows the dev team’s goal of making Land more active instead of passive. Players can craft cards using resources from their plots, which gives additional meaning and function to long-term production tying it more to the main game. It also creates movement in the economy as more players join the crafting phase.

Cinder and Burning Cards

Cinder is one of the most interesting parts of this update because it gives an actual reason to burn cards. Players get Cinder by burning cards with DEC burn value, which means the supply of older cards can slowly decrease. This is a long-term sink that helps balance the growing number of cards in the game.

The value of Cinder also affects crafting because every Land Card requires it. This creates a link between the battle card market and the Land market. Over time, this may raise the floor prices of many older cards since they now have another use.

Land-only Cards, The New Worker Cards

Land Cards cannot be used in battles like in Ranked, Brawls, or Tournaments because they don't have any stats but they can become powerful workers that boost your production. Their abilities help plots become more efficient, save resources or improve synergy depending on the bloodline of your workers. Even the lowest rarity cards give some bonus that adds value to your land.

Because Land Cards don’t add combat power, they are perfect for players who focus mainly on building and producing. They help you fine-tune your plot and get more out of your daily harvests. It also gives more meaning to worker slots, making plot planning more important than before.

Another big part of these cards is Labor’s Luck, which lets you discover rare foils during harvests. Having a worker with Labor's Luck is the only way to discover worker cards with a different foil than normal. The non-foil versions can always be crafted. However, even if the chance is small, the idea of pulling a Gold Foil or Black Foil card makes the system feel rewarding especially if your focus is Land and not the ranked battles.

Author's Note Banner.gif

This edition is called a “proof-of-concept,” and that says a lot about the future. It means the team wants to test the market, get data and learn before they release bigger sets. They usually do this, just like in Rebellion Summoner Tactics or Campaign Mode before they add more features. It's smart because there's no reason to invest in a project where no one wants it.

So, If players like the crafting system, we can expect more Land Cards with new abilities and deeper mechanics. Maybe we can see weather effects soon like the Modifiers in Ranked Battles. Imagine having a weather effect like +50% increased Grain production because it's raining for 2 weeks. That would be more fun and interesting in the Land gameplay section.

Season 2 Land Cards might be larger in number and wider in ability variety. The team could add more specialized roles, more production types or even plot-specific cards. This opens the door for very interesting Land builds and long-term progress.

Looking ahead, this first set helps balance the economy by burning cards in exchange for resources which keeps the economy healthy. Future sets might expand this with more sinks and more ways to use plot production. Overall, this edition feels like the start of a long-term ecosystem that will grow each season.
