Introducing the "Going the Distance" rule of combat where ranged monsters are the only ones allowed on the battlefield. Skargore is a powerful summoner with Enrage ability that will lead the charge as he looks to take advantage of this restrictive condition to bring victory for his side.

This rule of combat forces both sides to employ different strategies and tactical approaches as they adjust to the restrictions imposed by the "Going the Distance" rule of combat.

This battle will be about who has the best strategies for Going the Distance and the best strategy wins.

While Skargore may not be the best summoner especially for monsters with Range damage type. Even if the damage will not be increased by Enrage, the Speed will still be increased.

Drybone Raider is a strong monster but really requires a certain combo with either rule of combat or certain abilities to be strong. Since his damage consists of melee and range, that means he cannot use the melee damage when placed at the back while if placed in the front, you cannot use the range damage. This weird combination of damage types can be tricky for newer players.

At level 1, Double Strike is unlocked. [Attack Modifier] [Damage] This monster is allowed to do two attacks every round.

While it's not that strong on lower levels, the Double Strike is very deadly on high levels.

At level 2, Shatter is unlocked. [Damage] Remove excess armor after this monster hits the opponent.

Shatter is a good combination with Double Strike ability especially since both of his attacks can be blocked by armor, Shatter is a really good ability for him.

At level 3, Cripple is unlocked. [Negative Status] Monsters attacked by this card have their max health reduced by 1.

Cripple is a good ability especially if your monster has Double Strike ability on dual damage types. This meant that he can attack up to 4 times depending on specific situations. This also means he can apply the Cripple ability up to 4 times each round.

Skargore: I had Skargore in this battle because he's the max level summoner I have for Fire Splinter. Fortunately, his Enrage ability was not wasted since the Enrage ability can be used by Drybone Raider's melee damage.

1. Drybone Raider: A really niche pick for Going the Distance rule of combat due to his dual damage type. Since he has Range damage type, he can be used in Going the Distance rule of combat even if he has Melee damage type.
2. Torch Myrmidon: Torch Myrmidon should be in the first position for the Flank ability. His Close Range ability also works as a tank since he can attack in first position despite being a Range monster.
3. Lava Spider: Lava Spider's Snipe ability is a good one but his biggest strength would be his high health despite having a low mana cost of 3.
4. Gargoya Devil: A main for any Going the Distance rule of combat. Even though he's not strong, the Close Range ability is always appreciated.
5. Countess Sinash: One of the strongest monster with Range damage for Fire Splinter. When using Countess Sinash, make sure you use a max level one for the Blast ability.

ᗪIᗪ YOᑌᖇ ᔕTᖇᗩTEGY ᗯOᖇKEᗪ?

Yes. Going the Distance rule of combat requires a monster to have range damage to be used and does not restrict monsters with multiple damage types. That is why I was able to use Drybone Raider even though he has melee damage.

The other monsters worked well for their purposes but this game would be so much easier if not for that one mistake that I will discuss later in this article.

ᗯᕼᗩT ᗯIᒪᒪ YOᑌ TᖇY ᗪIᖴᖴEᖇEᑎTᒪY ᑎE᙭T TIᗰE?

I actually made a mistake in this battle and I think you can clearly see it. Torch Myrmidon must be on the first position and Drybone Raider is at the second position. Drybone Raider can still attack with his melee from second position due to Torch Myrmidon's Flank ability giving Drybone Raider the Reach ability. In addition to that, since Torch Myrmidon has Close Range ability, he can still attack in first position while having Range damage.

. I am not a Range type player It's the damage type that I least like due to its many flaws and limitations. I was just lucky this game that I have better cards than my opponents but it doesn't mean that this build is more powerful than any other builds I have.
