Reviewing Hyunjin's SOLO "So Good" + Rising Star Stat Update + Packs Opening!

¡Ya casi que rebajo todo el EGO! Solamente queda un 15%. Por suerte, he podido conseguir bastantes fans a través de cartas y de misiones, así que de a poquito va todo tomando forma.

No sé muy bien las probabilidades pero en todo caso sería mi tercer carta épica que consigo en el juego, y al mismo tiempo la primera vez que me sale un paquete con más de una carta de rango más que "Raro". Así que no sabría decidir cuál de los dos paquetes quedarme. Tal vez el paquete de 3 raras, desconozco la probabilidad, pero ciertamente fue épico.

I'm not sure about the exact probabilities, but in any case, this would be my third epic card in the game, and at the same time, the first time I've gotten a pack with more than one card higher than "Rare" rank. So, I wouldn't know which of the two packs to keep. Maybe the pack with 3 rares, I don't know the probability, but it was certainly epic.

Por supuesto, hay consideraciones sobre esta sección y el análisis que se hará para que no sea la típica "este tema me gustó 7/10".
Para analizarlos, escucharé no sólo la canción sino el álbum / single completo de donde esta haya salido. Esto me dará un margen mejor de análisis del artista y de la composición más que pensar solamente en una canción singular sin ningún tipo de conexto. La idea de este tipo de dinámicas es también identificar qué canción es buena para el álbum y cuales no lo son, o si es una canción floja pero no es necesariamente la canción principal del álbum, claramente la tendré en cuenta de una forma distinta.
Se analizará cada canción del álbum / single, y además, le daré un punaje a cada una, finalizando en un puntaje del álbum / single completo. Estos luego irán a un Excel donde tengo mis opiniones musicales formadas.
Sin nada más que decir, comencemos:
Of course, there are considerations about this section and the analysis that will be done so that it is not the typical ‘yeah I like this track 7/10’.
To analyse them, I will listen not only to the song but to the whole album / single from which it came out. This will give me a better scope of analysis of the artist and the composition rather than just thinking about a singular song without any kind of connection. The idea of this kind of dynamic is also to identify which song is good for the album and which are not, or if it is a not so bad song but not necessarily the main song on the album, clearly I will think about it in a different way.
Each song on the album / single will be analysed, and in addition, I will give a score to each song, ending in a score for the whole album / single. These will then go into an Excel where I have my musical opinions formed.

Hyunjin, o como lo conocen muchos en la escena, el "príncipe", es la cara visual, la tapa frontal de Stray Kids. A diferencia de los demás miembros, este integrante fue particularmente llamado para audicionar en la empresa, una vez que fue a comprar a un centro comercial con su mamá. Al reclutador le pareció un chico muy apuesto, por lo que lo invitó a audicionar.
Este integrante junto a sus 7 compañeros ha sacado una canción para lo que en el fandom se llama "SKZ - Player", que son canciones no sacadas como grupo, sino individualmente. En este álbum, HOP, se pueden apreciar las 8 canciones solistas de cada uno de los miembros de Stray Kids.
Además de su belleza, Hyunjin también es muy versátil con al voz. Puede cantar, sobretodo se destaca en partes "más habladas" que cantando a puro pulmón, pero más que nada, en los raps.
¿Qué tal si escuchamos lo que nos puede ofrecer el príncipe de la escena del K-pop?
Hyunjin, or as many in the scene know him, "the Prince," is the visual face, the front cover of Stray Kids. Unlike the other members, this particular member was invited to audition for the company after a recruiter spotted him at a shopping mall with his mother, finding him very handsome and inviting him to audition.
This member, along with his seven bandmates, has released a song for what the fandom calls "SKZ - Player," which are tracks released individually rather than as a group. In this album, HOP, you can enjoy all eight solo songs from each of the Stray Kids members.
Beyond his striking looks, Hyunjin is also very versatile with his voice. He can sing, especially excelling in more "spoken" parts rather than belting out notes, but above all, he shines in his raps.
How about we listen to what the Prince of the K-pop scene has to offer?

La canción comienza con un beat muy a destiempo, como su fuera una especie de tambor, para a los 10 segundos se interrumpe abruptamente con un beat muy particular, medio metálico y hasta que parece una alarma. De esto hay que acostumbrarnos porque es así durante toda la canción el patrón de "pum" "clang" "pum" "clang" que se genera. Hyunjin entra en escena con una toma en modo selfie, totalmente inesperada para comenzar la canción.
Manteniendo el mismo ritmo el primer verso se desarrolla sin realizar más que algún cambio de tempo que dura 1 o 2 segundos como mucho. Es en este tipo de canciones donde empieza a relucir Hyunjin, las canciones más habladas, sin presionar mucho la voz y mostrando lo que mejor sabe hacer, bailar.
Seguimos en el track y se nos introduce de golpe el estribillo sin ningún preparamiento como un build-up y con un mensaje corto y contundente "La vida es tan buena". Que es una manera muy ingeniosa de comunicar, y en pocos segundos, dejarnos un mensaje.
El segundo verso comienza igual que el primero, y empieza a destacarse lo que mejor caracteriza a Hyunjin, el baile y el rap. Después de una sección corta de rap con unas barras buenas, la base desacelera un poco para dar espacio a una especie de build-up. Continuando con esta sección, la canción de a poco va a tomando el ritmo original para explotar en el segundo estribillo.
En este segundo estribillo puede escucharse con más claridad una especie de trompetita que suena en el fondo, haciendo como un sonido característico de la música árabe y parecidos. Acompañando de una forma bastante particular a la base principal, transitamos el segundo verso, muy parecido al primero, pero con la diferencia que se corta abruptamente la instrumental.
La misma vuelve mucho más lenta, en lo que yo considero el mejor recurso de la música pop, el anti-drop (Charlie Puth estaría orgulloso de mí). Esta especie de puente que arranca de la nada se mantiene por unos segundos más al mismo tiempo que Hyunjin nos susurra cosas al oído, hasta implementar como unos sonidos de ¿"tablas"? Y luego callarse toda la instrumental una vez más.
Este puente continúa con toda una parte totalmente musical, lo que llamamos en el k-pop "dance break", que es, justamente, una sección especial para hacer relucir la coreografía de la canción. ¿Y recordemos que es Hyujin? Exacto, bailarín. Este puente finaliza con un sonido de flauta, que da pie de manera exacta para entrar al último estribillo.
Como adivinaron, el último estribillo tiene la misma estructura que los otros dos, pero esta vez se siente como más, ¿caótico? Tal vez por el puente anterior que hizo ganar una expectativa distinta de lo que viene, pero sin dudas pega diferente. Luego del estribillo, la canción finaliza cortando totalmente la instrumental.
Al principio no me parecía una canción que me haga replantear cosas, pero a medida que la fui escuchando, y analizando este tipo de cosas como el antidrop, el puente, etc, la canción se vuelve totalmente loca y libre, justamente, como las líricas dicen que debemos ser.
Puntaje: 9/10
The song begins with a very off-beat rhythm, like a drum, only to be abruptly interrupted after 10 seconds by a very peculiar beat, somewhat metallic and even resembling an alarm. We need to get used to this because the "boom" "clang" "boom" "clang" pattern continues throughout the entire song. Hyunjin enters the scene with a selfie-mode shot, completely unexpected to start the track.
Maintaining the same rhythm, the first verse develops with only brief tempo changes lasting a second or two at most. It's in these kinds of songs where Hyunjin starts to shine – more spoken, less vocally pressured tracks, showcasing what he does best: dancing
As we continue in the track, the chorus is suddenly introduced without any build-up, delivering a short and impactful message: "Life is so good." This is a very ingenious way to communicate a message in just a few seconds.
The second verse begins just like the first, highlighting Hyunjin's strongest characteristics: dance and rap. After a short rap section with some good bars, the beat slows down a bit to make space for a kind of build-up. Continuing this section, the song gradually returns to its original rhythm, exploding into the second chorus.
In this second chorus, a faint trumpet-like sound can be heard more clearly in the background, making a characteristic sound reminiscent of Arabic music. Accompanying the main beat in a rather unique way, we go through the second verse, very similar to the first, but with the difference that the instrumental abruptly cuts off.
It returns much slower in what I consider the best resource in pop music: the anti-drop (Charlie Puth would be proud of me). This kind of bridge that starts out of nowhere continues for a few more seconds as Hyunjin whispers things to us, until it implements some sounds of "boards"? And then the entire instrumental falls silent once again.
This bridge continues with an entirely musical part, what we call in K-pop a "dance break," which is, precisely, a special section to highlight the song's choreography. And who do we remember Hyunjin is? Exactly, a dancer. This bridge ends with a flute sound, perfectly leading into the final chorus.
As you guessed, the last chorus has the same structure as the other two, but this time it feels more... chaotic? Perhaps because the previous bridge created a different expectation of what was coming, but it definitely hits differently. After the chorus, the song ends with the instrumental cutting off completely.
At first, it didn't seem like a song that would make me rethink things, but as I kept listening to it and analyzing elements like the anti-drop and the bridge, the song becomes completely crazy and free, just as the lyrics say we should be.
Score: 9/10
La canción me encantó de arriba a abajo. Desde el principio hasta el final, no se pueden sacar los ojos de encima del videoclip, y al mismo tiempo, no se puede dejar de escuchar ni un solo segundo la canción.
La canción particularmente habla de la vida y de vivirla como tiene que ser, disfrutando y no preocupándose por cosas que no pueden cambiarse, ni por cosas que nos hacen mal. Esta filosofía de vida es muy particular de Hyunjin en sí, una persona libre que vive la vida tranquilamente y disfrutando cada momento.
En mi opinión, estamos ante quizá la mejor canción de las que hemos escuchado hasta el momento. Queda un tramo todavía para escuchar y este top puede cambiar, pero la verdad, quedé fascinado con esta canción.

I absolutely loved the song from top to bottom. From beginning to end, you can't take your eyes off the music video, and at the same time, you can't stop listening to the song for a single second.
The song particularly talks about life and living it as it should be, enjoying and not worrying about things that can't be changed, or things that harm us. This philosophy of life is very characteristic of Hyunjin himself, a free person who lives life calmly and enjoys every moment.
In my opinion, we are perhaps facing the best song we've heard so far. There's still a ways to go in listening, and this top spot might change, but honestly, I was fascinated by this song.
