WAFCON 2024: A win for Nigeria 🇳🇬, Senegal and Algeria

Yesterday was a joyful one for me, just as I expected, because I knew we were going to win the match.

Let me give you a breakdown and review of how the matches went yesterday.

Senegal vs DR Congo

The first match of the day was Senegal vs DR Congo, and that match recorded the biggest win so far in the tournament — 4:0 in favour of Senegal. It's obvious the DR Congo ladies didn’t come prepared to play; that wasn’t a football show at all. The Senegalese ladies had fun thrashing their opponents yesterday. I didn’t watch this match because I closed late from church yesterday. I only saw the highlights, and it was entertaining. The DR Congo ladies were so poor on the field. With Senegal pulling off a show like this in Group A, Morocco and Zambia need to be on the lookout.

Nigeria vs Tunisia

I watched this match, and it was so interesting and entertaining. Of course, why wouldn’t it be interesting when my team won? Lol 😅 The Super Falcons of Nigeria dominated the match from beginning to end. It ended 3:0 in favour of Nigeria. Asisat Oshoala scored the first goal, Rinsola Babajide scored the second, and Ihezuo scored the third one. Interestingly, the Woman of the Match award was given to a lady who came in during the second half — Esther Okoronkwo — who pulled off a great performance in her short time on the pitch.

Algeria vs Botswana

To be very honest, I expected Botswana to win this game due to their previous record, but luck fell on the Algerian ladies, and they won the game by 1:0.

Next Matches Today:

South Africa vs Ghana — Time: 5 PM (local time) This is surely going to be a tough battle. Although South Africa has the upper hand due to the fact that they're the defending champions, I know the Ghanaian ladies are going to stay strong.

Mali vs Tanzania — Time: 8 PM (local time) Let’s see how today goes.
