Skabba 'One Eye' Folium (World Building Notes)

There's an idea I've been mulling over for a while now - by a while, I mean close to three years. - bar some offshoot notes I haven't actually written anything about it, something which I'm hoping to change very soon as I find it interesting.

Skabba 'One Eye' Folium
The idea is about a Doshan, who was taken captive by The Confederation during the attempted occupation of Free Space. She was known all throughout Dosha for her beauty, however, after years in captivity she ended up mutilated. She uses her past attractiveness and knowledge of entertainment learned on Dohsa, as a way of intimidating people now and has been left in this mentally broken state; living a life between who she is now and what she was then. She sees innocence as a weakness and in a way is sickened by her old naïve attitude toward life.

Escaping Her Captors
She spent a few years being sent from ship to ship, and every time she tried to escape she was punished. After a few years, she had learned much about not only the inner workings of The Confederation, but also psychology too, and more so than these things, she learned about ships, which was something she had no interest in before.

Skabba would learn from talking with different officers, and also occasionally steal documents to read in her free time. When she wasn't listening, talking, or reading she would stare out the window of whatever ship she found herself on and think of her husband back home on Dosha, and sometimes even imagine herself as the commander of her own fleet of ships, and soon she started to think of ways to escape.

At first, she was numb, but the feelings came back suddenly as a red hot burning passion the first time she killed one of them. Terrified of the repercussions of murdering a higher-up, Skabba hid the body and did so well enough that she wasn't caught. Surprised by the fact that no one suspected her, she started to listen out for any issues amongst the soldiers, and from here, she would assassinate members, so long as there were others around who would be potential suspects.

Biding her time, and waiting patiently before striking proved to be easy for her, and then the time came that everything lined up perfectly for her to make an escape; this time she succeeded.

Welcoming Home Party
The war was over and the only thing she went back to Dosha with, was a Confederation ship and a list of people left to kill. But, before any of that, she wanted to see her husband.

All the years had dragged on, and she was shocked to find that he had moved on, but in a way, she wasn't surprised or upset by that; the thing that upset her most, was the look he gave her. He could barely look into her eyes, afraid to even look at her, she knew that she had changed, but it only sank in when she saw his response.

In a fit of rage, she murdered him. Which to her felt like a way of truly giving up on her past life, and with the burden of her past behind her, she looked to the future. Now on the run from her home planet, she sought a new home. Kah-Vita.

New Start
After getting to Kah-Vita she found that the planet itself was in ruins. She started up a small operation, doing anything to make ends meet, and soon she amassed a small group who made things a bit easier.

The fact that she wasn't afraid of getting her own hands dirty endeared her to the people she worked with, and their loyalty proved to be an asset worth more than money. Around this time she realised that not giving details on your past is beneficial in a way, as some people would make up their own stories, and with these exaggerations came another useful tool she learned to use. Intimidation.

Skabba also made note of how uncomfortable people would be when she jokingly made advances toward them, so that became one of her favourite ways to toy with people and watch them squirm.

A Real Prospect
Her small crew had grown, and now she was spearheading a small fleet of three ships and eighty-two people.

It was around this time she started working for a well-established group of raiders who operated out of a base on the third moon of Kah-Vita, the prospect of working for this group was great and finally, they were making some real money and were able to expand their operation. Her crew was happy to work for them, but she had grander ideas.

After some careful plotting with her most trusted crew members, they devised a plan to de-throne the group they were working for and the plan succeeded, in one fell swoop they managed to completely wipe out every person in a position of power. With them gone, she offered work to their remaining troops, some didn't join, but everyone else did and it was at this time that everything picked up.

Almost overnight, she went from three ships and eighty-two people to nine ships and two-hundred and sixty-four crew members.

The Scourge
Her small group became the scourge of Kah-Vita, they secured their position at the top of the underworld food chain, and their numbers started to swell over a short space of time. She was left with so many people that ships were constantly coming and going from the base, to carry out their work.

The Kah-Vitan government tried to stop them before they got any bigger, but, they lost that fight and as retribution Skabba's crew decimated some parts of the planet and plundered many valuables. After this, Kah-Vita left them be. From here, anyone traveling to or from Kah-Vita was expected to pay tribute to their base beforehand.

Now, she was at the head of a real army and had real power. Her connections spread throughout the entire galaxy, and many people did all they could to please her. One way people found to gain favour with her, was to bring Ex-Confederation troops to her base.
